Lower back pain - Squat form check (video)

    Hello community,

I am following Fierce 5 UL program since April and so far I am satisfied with my progress. I started with 50kg working reps for squats and I am currently at 95kg x5 , so from a 56kg calculated 1RM to a 107 calculated 1RM.

The problem at the moment is that my progress is being hindered by my lower back. I have the feeling that my legs could push it further but I am feeling pain in my lower back that goes beyond the normal "work out" pain. The pain after workout is not of "soreness" anymore, rather more acute and starting to show signs that maybe I should have a break.

Before jumping to conclusions, I would like to check my form and for this reason I attach these two videos from two different angles. They are from May with 80kg and I don't think my form has drastically change since then.

To watch the videos just delete the blanks.

    Thank you for your inputs!

This is a strange looking squat. Your knees are going directly forward, they need to go out much more. Because your knees are right in front of you, your torso can't get low and stay tight in your lower back. Time to start over, check out this article and try again.

Would you suggest having a wider stance?

Yes wider stance, your feet are too close together. Also, make sure your toes are pointed slightly outwards and that your knees track in the same direction your toes are pointing.
