How’s Holtby looked? I haven’t watched many games and it looked like Demko was starting every time I’d turn one on.

I loved the guy in DC but it seemed like his ego kept increasing and his play kept slipping. Not that he isn’t an awesome goalie, but I didn’t think he’d be worth what he could get. If his contract had come up a few years back, absolutely. I’ll never truly talk **** about him because of that save in the finals, but even leading up to that he had basically lost the starting job down the stretch with inconsistency.

Also, Wilson with a pretty late hit last night vs the Pens. I love Tommy, and for the most part hes stepped away from those, I didn’t like seeing it in a regular season game and a 1 goal lead. It wasn’t even like he didn’t have time to not hit the guy.

Holtby has been horribly mediocre. Defense in front of him sucks but can't count on him to play above water, whatever should go in does go in. Has substantially worse stats even though we're riding Demko harder.

The problem is many people, and player safety (which is a joke) will break down the film to frame by frame analysis at fifty different angles. They’ll determine it was a quarter of a second late and punish him. Which is nonsense. Even if this was a Pens player hitting Wilson I don’t think either should be penalized. Both Wilson’s hit and Ceci’s hit were under a second..... youre penalizing a guy because the hit was hard! You can’t penalize hard clean hits. Stop breaking stuff down to ridiculously slow speeds with frame-by-frame analysis.... the game isn’t played like that. Jankowski played the puck, and he was hit within a second in the chest. It’s like the NFL’s problem with helmet to helmet hit

If you only punish hits that are hard.... it’s gonna encourage players acting hurt all the time to get penalties.... he didn’t hit him in the head, or from behind, or more than a second after he played the puck. Watch the hit in game speed, cause that’s what Wilson is playing at.... judging it frame-by-frame in super slow motion is nonsense.. these guys aren’t playing at half speed.

I generally agree with this narrative. I just think on this hit in question, as a Caps fan, Wilson had time to lay off it.

not only was there time to lay off, there was no reason to initiate to begin with. hell, he initiated the windup into the hit after the puck was already gone.. he batted a puck back into the O zone while skating away. just move on and line him up next time. guess that's way too advanced of thinking for mongo over there

was it a clean hit? yeah but he wasn't eligible to be hit so the point is moot

Holy poo what a comeback by Vegas vs Minn. Best hockey game I’ve ever seen (Srs) Thought Fleury’s coming back “down to earth” after his awesome start to the season was gonna cost LV the game. LV score a late goal after pulling fluery. Mark Stone 5 assists.. Max P a stud as always. Alex Tuch is having one hell of a season. His size speed and skill is a problem. I’m glad he’s finally putting it all together. Outside of William Karlson, LV centers suck. Chandler Stephenson is not top getting it done. He sucks. LV please make a trade for a serviceable center

Just wanted to shout out Bobby Ryan who is having a decent season on an extremely offensive starved Redwings team. He is such a good story from last year and I am glad he is having personal success.

Blackhawks and Tampa have played two great games so far. As a Blackhawks fan I wasn't super optimistic heading into the season with Toews and Kirby out but man these young guys have flourished and Lank might be ROTY. I think this team might have a bright future after the tazer kaner era... got some great veteran mentors on this team to develop the young guys.

Half of Tampa's OT games have been the past 2. Also fkn Subban has only allowed 1 goal in 22 shootout attempts. That's ****ing crazy. He is in Point's head because he also stopped him twice on breakaways this game.
