Peyton Manning career TD record will fall

Who gets to 540 first, Brees or Brady?

Brees doing it vs Indy on MNF would be incredible.

Patriots are playing the Bengals next week.
Saints are playing the Colts next week.

More than likely both will surpass Manning next weekend.

I wonder if either will make it to 600 before they retire. Before season I thought brees would definitely do it, but now I'm guessing neither make it.

Seeing how Pats offense looks this year, it will either be 14-6 game or Brady/Belichick activate their final form after losing 2 in a row and it's a complete wipeout

Brees needed 700 more attempts, Brady needed 300 more attempts.

Volume stat padders who needed to play until they were 40.

Not impressed. We all know Manning was a way better QB then both of them combined.

You think maybe Manning playing in a dome most of his career surrounded by top tier receiver talent helped him pad some of his stats?

Yeah you're right Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Wes Welker...all scrubs who were made by Peyton.

Does a good QB make WRs better? No chit.

Did those guys all fall off a cliff without Peyton? Certainly not the ones that weren't left concussed into retirement(RIP Austin Collie)

Manning played in the same "system" his whole career which is why he didn't join the 49ers after Colts let him go. Harbaugh wanted him to run his offense and Manning wanted to do what he knew how to do already and didn't want to learn something else.

And Denver didn't go to chit because he left. He was literally the worst QB in the league the year they won the SB.

They fell apart because Denver lost key guys on their defense and Elway sucked at adding talent after his crazy FA push after Seattle curb stomped them in the SB.

And Denver didn't go to chit because he left. He was literally the worst QB in the league the year they won the SB.

They fell apart because Denver lost key guys on their defense and Elway sucked at adding talent after his crazy FA push after Seattle curb stomped them in the SB.
That’s right Manning was the system, he wasn’t beholden to a coach like Brees and Brady. Lol learn something new, Manning was the one teaching the coaches. That’s why all the coaches that move on from Manning also go to chit.

If Manning was that bad and the weapons that good they should of gotten better by your logic, or maybe those weapons weren’t that good. Broncos has the 32nd ranked passing offense before Manning arrived lol

“Career TD” only counting regular season TDs is probably the dumbest stat that exists in sports lmao just lmao. Brady has like what, 30 more TD than Peyton?

yeah, they definitely didn't tank to get the number one pick. That certainly didn't happen. Suck for Luck was just a silly saying.

Ah yes Jim Caldwell purposely tanked to lose his job, and the players also played like chit on purpose.

It can’t be the fact Peyton is the singular most impactful QB in nfl history

The fuk out of here with this crap.

Manning had the same OC in place for 12 years. But yeah let's pretend Manning was the one who was teaching the coaches.

I think Peyton Manning is one of the best to play the game and there's no question he worked his ass off to be an excellent QB and one of the guys who could break down defenses the best but the whole "He is the system" thing is garbage.

Not sure where you're even getting that I'm implying Peyton was bad. He was one of the best to ever do it but it doesn't mean he wasn't aided in accumulating his regular season numbers from teams surrounding him with top tier talent on offense and playing in a dome the bulk of his career was also a huge boost.

Look at the games this year played in the rain/wind and look at the games played in a dome. You'll see a substantial difference in offensive production. Playing in domes and playing in the elements will affect the numbers in a significant way.

It's true, he knew the routes, the timing, he knew where he was going to throw the ball. That all went downhill in Denver when Elway told Manning he needed to adjust his system and incorporate more run plays (midway through the 2014 season, ~ @Rams game). It through his whole dynamic with how he manipulated defenses out of sync, there was no Manning cadence to the playcalling, and something he had been so accustomed to for so many years, was now rendered ineffective. People think Manning sharply declined due to physical age but anyone who paid close enough attention to what happened in the 2014 season knew why. It only got worse when Gase left and Kubiak came in with his archaic playcalling.

Same OC that didn’t do ****, why did Caldwell, Gase and McCoy all do when they didn’t have Peyton anymore ???( get fired)Even the former colts player used to say Peyton would run the meetings not the coaches.

You mean outdoors in Denver where he had his best 3 year stretch ever?? You fuking moron. All those years in Indy Peyton was carrying that terrible franchise and the second leaves he starts breaking records, with the previously 32nd ranked pass offense.

What is your point? Nobody is arguing that Manning made OCs worse. Just arguing your idiotic point that Manning was the system.

And did he not have weapons all over the place in Denver?

    Demarius Thomas
    Eric Decker
    Emmanuel Sanders
    Wes Welker

So 3 years with a stacked offensive roster well into his NFL career and it somehow proves that had he played outdoors in a cold weather location his numbers wouldn't have been greatly reduced from what they were?

Manning was the system and he was also the single point of failure - see SB 48.
