M, 5 11' , 174 lb, 16 % bf. I'm currently following a intermediate program and im having slow gains with 3800 calories a day. It has 7-8 exercises a day with max sets of 3. Was looking at an advance program it consists of 10-11 exercises (4 sets/failures/drop sets). Although i eat 3800 calories i dont gain alot at all because i burn it fast i guess. I have a desk job so no other activity. If i would progress to an advance program i might have to eat alot more?

There is no known reason to have a larger surplus as an experienced lifter (this question is still pending release of a forthcoming study).
If anything, they have lower overall tissue building potential so probably require less energy for that (which is not a lot anyway)
More experienced lifters might do more work - burn more calories - therefore need more calories.
