I tried them with just olive oil but the bitterness ruins the taste. Maybe parmesan helps with that?

I eat them almost every day. Throw them in boiling water with a mix of frozen vegetables and a handful of rice for 40 minutes. season with : vinegar; oil; mustard; raw leaves or raw red cabbage; ground nuts and seeds.

Throw them in a slow cooker (after washing them) and leave, add part boiled veg and cooked or seared meat (not keen on raw meat juices in my stew). Add a few stock cubes with some water to make a broth.

Very easy but will take a long time to cook so throw them on before work/ college. Slow cooker will just keep them cooking slowly in the broth and soften up the ingredients basically a lentil stew.

Very tasty and highly nutritional. Add spices and other ingredients depending on your required taste. Kidneys beans go well with some Moroccan spice.

If you wish to use them for other uses then limit the amount of broth added so the dry a bit and become more like rice structure then you can stuff peppers with the lentil, veg and meat mixture.

I made two lentil soups last week... ate some and froze the rest. I make triple or quadruple recipes in a pressure cooker, because they're both multiple ingredient soups with a fair amount of prep time. Cooking time is 10 minutes and it's done. Google if you want: Masoor Saabat & old fashioned lentil soup.

I love lentils, but usually I just cook them in water after soaking them for about half a day. Season them, sometimes I cook them together with meat to make it simpler.
“Fight one more round. When your feet are so tired that you have to shuffle back to the centre of the ring, fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round – remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.”
