I now have my first cell phone.
Numbers are big enough to read but all navigational concepts are quite unfamiliar to me.
Cindy has had her smart phone as far back as I can recall.
Just unlimited talk/text....no smartphone or internet options.
I'm thinking by 2022 my wife will have me up to snuff with it.
When I hold it I feel like I'm on the Enterprise tooling through the cosmos with my cool, compact communicator.
In all honesty....it's flip phone so many will argue I'm actually still hovering in the 20th century.

That's all I have....back to my learning curve....and a great weekend to all.
Carry on....

Right on Wayne, it sounds like you have just what you need. I bet it gives the missus some peace of mind too. Good stuff. I have a smart phone but only got it a year ago, mainly for the cycling app. Before that it was just a normal phone with a plan similar to yours. I just used it to let people I was going to be late and not to call search and rescue. lol

Yeah....it does give her some peace of mind.
I wanted her to have one as soon as they they were available as a necessary tool (as you inferred) in any given emergency.
How I perceive it?....land lines may be becoming obsolete if they aren't thought of as so already by the masses.
As a side note....early next month we're embarking on a life changing adventure.
We're in a temporary landing zone right now and everything is in storage until Oct. 8th.
We're moving out of California (hope no one held that against me) as we can no longer afford living here being on fixed incomes.
It was an inevitability.
Where to you might ask?.....Kansas.
My best buddy/long time band mate bass player lives there and is taking care of many of the logistics.
We have a house rented already....2bd/1.5 bath at 450/mo....yes, 450/mo....that's not a typo.
Second bedroom is in the basement which will be my music recording studio area.
Big adaptions are ahead for us but at least we can afford to live and I've grown quite accustomed to eating heartily.
We're both ready for a large ribeye w/side dishes right now.
Anyway...won't ramble further.

Sounds like a great opportunity, Wayne
Enjoy this new adventure in your life. I googled, Kansas.. it looks like a beautiful part of the world.
Once you and your wife are settled it will be great. And before you know it, you will be so comfortable you'll be
pumping out some songs.
Good luck and best wishes on your move..

G'day Lou1se....
Yeah....anticipating the "getting settled" has been keeping me from getting any good sleep.
Hope you're right about the "pumping out some songs".
California to Kansas....it will be culture shock for us that is for sure.
Hope all is well with you and the family orbit.
Thanks for chiming in and the well well wishes....we'll accept all of them.....on spread.

Howdy K....
Ha....that's great news!
I hate Californians and we'll be farrrrrr from San Francisco.
We'll be in La Crosse in the center of the state.
Thanks for chiming in and on spread with you.
Hey Lou1se....
Thanks for giving a listen to my latest song and kind comments....I love that horn section too and they were studio cats that tracked them down in southern California.
On spread with you too.

Oh....regarding your "beautiful" comment.
I forgot to add....being a long time wannabe science geek I'm going to actually look up into the night sky and SEE the ellipse of the Milky Way as I HAVEN'T since we visited Kansas back in 1994.....all 27K light years of it.
I'm really looking forward to that visual.....I could stare at it for some time with over a few fingers of Crown Royal.
That's all I have....for now.USMC: 1965-1969
