Which Protein Powder Do You Use & Why?

With so many powders out there and a few different variations, I was just wondering what you use and why. I have been using Gold Standard 100% Whey, but wondered if I should be using a carb/fat blend (if there is such a thing).

I balance low price and low calories. Often the budget one which is little more than just whey is the lowest calories. Usually I go with the cheapest at the time, although a while ago an egg/whey one was reduced, it was really eggy, like eating an egg mayonnaise sandwich where someone had added strawberry milkshake powder... Never again. Be cautious about the clearance/reduced one, maybe there's a reason why it didn't sell

I find fats and carbs easy to get from diet, so I have no need to take supplements for them

Gold Standard 100% Whey Isolates because I am lactose intolerant and I like the taste (both vanilla and double chocolate).
I would never buy a blend (gainer?) because there are cheaper and more tasty sources of carbs (=food!).

I use matrix anabolic gold as it tastes great, is reasonably priced for a huge 5KG tub and is 196 calories with 43g protien per serving.

I primarily eat solid food. Whey I have used NOW unflavored, Optimum Gold Standard and Vitamin Shoppe that is comparable to Gold Standard.

Dymatize ISO ... no special reason. Reliable, tastes good, mixes very well (even in hot coffee)

Redcon MRE - meal replacement with various protein sources. Tastes amazing, and my husband buys it so it's there

5% Real Carbs - handy (not at all protein, just mentioning it)

I prefer real food sources. Sometimes I just can't handle eating at the calorie levels I'm at right now... so I supplement as needed with the above stuff.

there is a company called Juddee's or something like that - I get her dehydrated egg white powder. No fillers, no flavor, and it dissolves pretty much instantly with minimal effort.

Dymatize iso Vanila because of stomach issues with other brands.

You can put whatever with it to make it whatever flavor and whatever stuff in it that you want.

PEScience because it tastes great. I was on Magnum before, which was pretty decent, and when bulking and caring somewhat less about unnecessary filler I’ve done Syntha 6 - tastes pretty good, but high calorie to protein ratio.

Low sugar, low carb, low fat, low calories and it is one of the best tasting proteins I have had. One of the only proteins that I can literally mix with a fork.

Price is very reasonable.

That is pretty much what I do as well. This week Animal has buy one get one half off so you can guess which one what I picked up.

I actually prefer the vegan shakes and I always looks for ones with less sugar and more vitamins. I would prefer a lower dose of protein for higher nutritional value.

Soya is a test killer. I always feared vegan protein because of this. Also I think research has not concluded in favour of anything but whey, maybe for absorption reasons.
I do know that hemp powder is 50% protein, a good source of carb, has a lot of nutrients and full amino acid spectrum.

JYM, i believe Jim's logic about blended protein - whey/egg/casein

I like that mix, too. Jym also tastes the best out of the brands I've tried over the years. Chocolate mousse smells and tastes like fresh batter. Jym is expensive but often on sale from BB, Amazon, GNC, et al.

I prefer solid food but on the rare occasion when I do use powder I like Metabolic Drive. I've used NOW Unflavored, Optimum Gold Standard and a few others, including Hot Stuff (original formula).

What: GNC Pure Isolate.
Why: GNC is a couple blocks from my office and I like buying stuff in person. It's the cheapest in-person protein I've found (usually on BOGO 50% off).
