Federal background checks can't be extended to private transactions among the people unless there is also a coinciding legal requirement for all private firearm owners to register all privately-owned firearms with the federal government.
Federal background checks can only be enforced on firearm manufacturers and dealers because of their legal contracts with the federal government. There is no legal contract between the people and the federal government allowing enforcement of regulations on firearms transactions amongst them.
You can't prevent violent criminals or the mentally ill from obtaining firearms, at least not the ones who are free among the general population. That's an accepted unfortunate situation in a country that has freedom. With the good sometimes comes some bad as well.

Why are you so angry? This is an internet discussion forum. Nobody posting here can cause you any personal harm. We are just talking about current events.
No joking around dude, that anger you're festering is getting worse. Either this forum is really bad for your mental health and you should take a step back, or you have some other serious negative stuff going on in your personal life that you should get professional help with in dealing with it. You're spiraling down lately and it's really quite unhealthy. It's hard to win an argument with a smart person. It's damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person. - Bill Murray

What you confluating two different things.
If I was afraid of having a gun accident, then no I wouldn't buy a gun to feel safe.
If you have a gun for protection, it is against violence brought on you by someone else. And they do that very well.
And now that I think about it - having a gun doesn't make me feel safe, it is part of being prepared. Like having a fire extinguisher - doesn't make me feel safe and I still have to take precautions to not start a fire. But I know that I am prepared in case the need arises.Boomer Rep Crew #1

The background checks themselves, no. But the laws that require background checks because they restrict ownership to felons and the mentally ill, yes a violation of the Second Amendment. I understand there are restrictions to the Bill of Rights but I don't agree with these.

get some help. If you are on the police force like you claim, then there's programs available to help.
Trolling for the sake of starting arguments with no real intent for sincere discussion is a cry for help.

You're wrong about literally everything you post. I have only ever had a single account, but thanks for proving yet again how little you know. Your mind can't fathom a world where you aren't venting in negative ways online. How empty is your personal life where this is the only entertainment you have? Because they really don't want psychotic homicidal and suicidal people leaving a crisis center?
Idk...seems pretty logical if you ask me.
Edit: I was not homicidal...just very delusional and depressed. Extremely paranoid.
I think it's the sherriff's people they station there. But they will put you in a restraint and take you from there to a mental hospital next door.
It's a LEO because going with them is not optional.EX IGNORANTIA AD SAPIENTIAM
