I work in finance and am always fascinated by numbers and such. Not sure what people know or don't know,

These are examples of the pareto principle, which states that for most events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the inputs.
1) The S&P 500 contains more or less the 500 largest publicly traded companies in the U.S. Examples include Apple, Amazon, ********, etc.. Something that I find fascinating is that these 500 companies make up more than 70% of the total market cap of all publicly traded companies in the U.S. ONLY 500 companies!
