I'm getting back into the swing of things after taking it easy for the past couple months. Lost my job due to the company closing last month, started my new one things week so my schedule is now set again. Trimmed down 10 lbs as with the job loss so did my 6 meals a day (I would eat 3 at work). On top of that, finished remodeling the house since I had free time. I'm just doing 4x week instinctive as I feel that day, whatever body part it might be.

Tonight is Turkish Get Ups:
Why? A summary of benefits:
-a primitive rolling pattern,
-unilateral development,
-a lunge pattern,
-an overhead hold,
-two hip hinges,
-glute activation,
-core recruitment,
-improved leg drive, and
-rotator cuff stabilization.
I used to have horrible shoulder/rotator cuff issues, but no more, due to the tgu. Because you have to stabilize while switching between the anterior, lateral, and overhead positions, and forces you to correct imbalances and inflexibility, it builds extremely strong, injury-resistant shoulders. The tgu also highlights imbalances in your physique, and because it works each side unilaterally, it helps fix those issues. It counters the shortened hip flexors brought on by too much sitting, as well as our modern hunched-backs from sitting, and cell phone usage. It builds a brutal strong core, and because again you're working through multiple planes of motion, it's superior to traditional core work. If you can press 50-100lbs from the prone position, and while keeping it balanced overhead, stand up, then lay back down.....you're not weak.
Now, how does this benefit my judo?
1) Cardio. Tgu's are slow-moving, and basically yoga with weights, but you'll find your heart beating out of your chest, if you go heavy. This is due to time under tension, which is extended beyond traditional weight training sets of 3-15.
2) Shoulder stability. It's an oddity of judo, but it all boils down to bringing your opponent off balance only a few degrees, and mostly that is acheived by pulling their right arm at the elbow in a circular motion, at shoulder level, to the side or forward, which utilizes the delts heavily. In addition, I've been working on a throw called seoi otoshi:
The tgu specifically addresses the shoulder strength, semi-split squat, and other issues that throw presents.~ Roast Master, Resident Coffee Warlock~

Today’s workout was just cardio, but it def helps my goal of trying to lose some fluff... just started doing cardio 6 days a week vs the 4 I had been to see how much I can lose with this keto diet. I don’t really go for a time I do a semi HIT on the elliptical machine until I hit a set calorie point... the more resistance I add and speed I do the faster I finish.... as I progress I’ll increase the caloric goals.
Salty.......... like Extra salty.......

Today's workout is going to help me meet my goals (lose some fat I gained during a recent bulk) because it's going to be some quality HIIT running at a local park, which should not only burn calories during the workout itself, but for a decent amount of time afterwards as well. Looking forward to it, especially since it's not as humid today as it's been for the last several months (I live in the southeast).

Taste- 9/10- A light refreshing blue raspberry flavor is what you'll taste when you first
take a sip then you taste a light lemon finish. It tasted like when your eating a Bomb Pop
and your licking the blue and white part together. Each time I consumed this I added
ice cold water with crushed ice and it was pretty tasty for a naturally flavored PW but
then again there wasn't a lot of EXTREME ingredients to mask. If you like blue razz
then I can't see anyone not liking this flavor.
This is straight from my review and I think the flavor is enjoyable if your a blue raspberry fan.

Now that summer is coming to a close, and the weather is starting to change, in addition to my daily lift sessions, I will begin to incorporate a different form of cardio. I got a membership to a rock climbing gym! This will work on my strength, as well as my cardio-I just need something different. Other than that, everything else will stay the same.
