Quick question on cutting macronutrient calculator

    Hi guys,

I've been bulking for a couple of months and used a macronutrient calculator. Total calories were ~2700 cals, but this wasn't enough for me. I upped my calories by adding carbs and fats to ~3000 cals (+300 cals).

When cutting, should I add around the same total calories in comparison with the number the calculator gives as when bulking? In my case, the calculator gives me a caloric intake of ~1800. In reality, should this be more around 1800+300 = ~2100cals?

    Thanks a lot!

You’ve been bulking a couple months and you’re already concerned about cutting?

well think of it this way. if 2700 calories didnt cause you to gain wait then it is at the very least, your maintenance, maybe even a deficit. That means anything under that should technically put you in a deficit. From there its just a matter of how drastically you want to cut/reduce calories

Thanks for your reply. Although that makes sense, don't we want to lose as much fat as possible--without losing muscle? If we are losing 100gr a week without losing muscle, great, but what if we can lose 500gr a week without losing muscle?

This seems to be much more superior because of metabolic reasons and time. I was just wondering if the number the calculator spits out wouldn't be too much of a deficit for me?

    Cheers!

Not necessarily because a small deficit can mean you'll still build muscle while you may lose muscle on a large deficit.

Do you have pictures? How tall are you? Weight?
