Hey All,
I’m trying to gather a bit of information on how people track their calories/macros (ie, weekly/daily/monthly), what methods they are using to do so (existing apps/self made spreadsheets) and what difficulties you have found when it comes to using these methods to track. Here’s a very short survey, I would love to get some feedback from the community.

My Fitness Pal
Just remember everything is just only an estimate. There is never complete accuracy because even if you weigh everything the starting calorie content of food items is still only just an estimate.
Some people go overboard with tracking in a pursuit of accuracy instead of results. No need for spreadsheets and intricate details. Just use a simple method like My Fitness Pal to add it up and aim to just be accurate enough to get results. Not accurate in unnecessary detail.

I log everything into Samsung Health.
As much as is practical, I measure out portion sizes to get the most accurate data, but there are still times when I ultimately have to eyeball it and hope that my guestimation bears some approximation to reality. When I cook up large portions of food (which I'll typically spend the next 3-4 days eating), I try to know how much I made in the first place, then divide the food up as evenly as possible and divide the total by the number of servings designated.

Used to use excel spreadsheets, but officially switched over to Cronometer since trying to work in a lot more variety into my diet. Works really well for managing macros and micros.

I use Cronometer, but instead a scale I check how much the stuff I buy weighs and divide it according to portions. So if I buy a 500 g bag of oatmeal and eat it in five days, I log 100 g for each day, if I buy 7 apples and they weigh x amount, then I just log x / 7 for each, if 6 chicken breasts are x weight and I eat two per day, I log x / 3 for that day, etc. For me this is faster than weighing everything.
“Fight one more round. When your feet are so tired that you have to shuffle back to the centre of the ring, fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round – remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.”
