MLS cup was nuts. Attendance larger than when Seahawks play and cheers registered on a seismograph in the stadium (not as loud as the Beast Quake from 2011). Team store was nearly empty before the match, all the scarves were gone and only a few Western Conference champs shifts remained.
GF's brother got us suite tickets from his work, incredibly lucky to have gotten them.

in other news: GOATnaldo only 2 international goals away from reaching 100 (!!!)
he will become only the second player ever to reach triple digits (after Ali Daei, 109 mostly in AFC)
last year Vertonghen become the first Belgian international to reach 100 caps, Cristiano about to reach that amount in GOALS, insane

The dude's insane. That second goal was an absolute banger. Him and Messi are some real treasures.

Lmao at Mourinho being the new Spurs manager. Didn't see that coming. That Amazon documentary on Spur's gonna be nuts now lol.
Good luck to Poch. He'll get plenty of offers to coach. Bayern or Madrid could be it for him depending on how the seasons end for those two teams.Manchester United

so the EURO 2020 play-off draw for the Nations League safety net is here
A: Bulgaria vs. Hungary, Iceland vs. Romania
B: Bosnia-Herzegovina vs. Northern Ireland, Slovakia vs. Republic of Ireland
C: Norway vs. Serbia, Scotland vs. Israel
D: Georgia vs. Belarus, North Macedonia vs. Kosovo
in path B an Ireland - Northern Ireland final would be juicy

one half and i've seen enough... benching sissoko already proves mourinho is levels above pochettino, 100% CL title incoming for spurs lmao
this is THE perfect environment for him, complete opposite of what he had to deal with at manure, doesn't need to be bringing anyone in except a rb, doesn't have players with attitude problems who can't accept authority, has literally the best player in the league, has alli who he'll prob turn into a lampard regen
it's fking over lmao

You're right, there really aren't enough good managers to go around.
Every article about Arsenal seems to be about sacking Emery but who would they replace him with? The obvious option for to replace Emery right now is Pochettino but can any reasonable Arsenal fan really expect that the club's hierarchy would be bold and proactive enough to quickly move for him before another club signs him? Especially given the facts that 1. Poch just managed Spurs (I know he was sacked but I feel like there's still some loyalty there between Poch and the Spurs fans so I'm not sure he'd make the switch) and 2. how long it took Arsenal to sack Wenger when it was obvious to everyone that he had been in decline for over a decade. That sort of change, especially mid-season, is not something the current club hierarchy will make.
I don't think sacking Emery would really make much of a difference right now anyways. I don't think he's a particularly good manager but I don't think he's inept either, at least not enough to explain Arsenal's short-comings. One thing I like about him is that he seems to pressure the board into making signings (much more so than Wenger ever did) and new signings are what the club needs more than anything. The real problems are the terrible defense and a lack of on-pitch leadership. The solution to both is to buy a centerback who is both a top player and a strong leader; someone in the mold of Van Dyke, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Puyol, etc. but of course finding such a player is hard enough at any time but today, the market demand for centerbacks is through the roof which is why the costs of players like Harry Maguire, De Ligt, Van Dyke (who was clearly worth it) are through the roof.
Hopefully William Saliba will turn out to be a top defender but we'll have to wait until next season since he was loaned back to St Etienne as part of the deal when he was purchased. Aside from waiting on him, the only other potentially available options for Arsenal are to shell out the money for a relatively unknown centerback talent who is both highly rated and a bit older than Saliba (ex: Upamecano) or, more realistically, to sign some a 30+ y/o centerback whose best days are behind him but has the experience and is still superior to the crap centerbacks currently in the squad (ex: someone with a resume like Gary Cahill, who Arsenal would have been smart to have signed over the summer... especially instead of David Luiz).Last edited by .MANoWAR.; 11-25-2019 at 11:50 AM.
