LOL I didn't know the 4th one in the champions group plays against the number 7 for that last ticket. The playoffs for the last European ticket in Holland actually is kind of a good thing since it keeps the league interesting for longer for a lot of mid level teams.
The biggest farce and most ridiculous part of this whole thing is of course the points halving. That's just asinine. Bu overall the entire thing is a giant ****show of course. Any chance of getting rid of it in the near future?

What's your favorite team brah? Isn't it some local belgian team that most ppl don't know about. I've been to Belgium before but that was years and years ago. Watched a game when Vincent Kompany was still a prospect at Anderlecht.
Now he's manager at Burnley. I could see him possibly becoming the Man City manager in the future after Pep decides to finally leave srs.

wouldn't be surprised if so called "football fans" on here never heard of my team since all they seem to care about is the top-4 in the Premier League lol
but anyone that has a sense of football history would know them
they're the last Belgian team to win a European trophy
if you look at the list of winners of the European Super Cup they're right there between Porto and Milan
up until Villarreal won the EL they were the smalles city to deliver a European trophy winner

Lots of speculation surrounding that. He's a left footed winger but he's played almost all of his matches on the left wing for Man City in the youth games. Our captain Tadic also left recently but we already have Bergwijn (a 30mil+ record signing) for the left wing, so logic dictates that Borges is coming to play as a right winger. Rumours are he'll cost somewhere between 15 and 20mil euros, so for that place you'll definitely expect him to be a starter.
Of course I had never heard of the guy before today but he seems like an exciting player. We recently contracted one of City's top scouts, so this one can't be a coincidence.

Yeah it's insane. That CL year really put things into motion. We managed to sell Frenkie de Jong and De Ligt voor 80mil+ each. When you look back historically at outgoing transfers you have world class players like Sneijder, Robben and Zlatan leaving the league for like 15-25mil each.
The financial advantage we have over the other two big clubs is insane. Here are the biggest outgoing transfers in league history:
PSV is at 5 and 6, the other 8 players were Ajax players. And here are the 10 biggest incoming transfers in league history:
Notice not only the entire top 10 is filled with Ajax players, but also notice the dates. Almost all of them were recent. It's one of the biggest fukups in international football history that Ajax didn't manage to become champions last season with the kind of advantage we have.

Interesting. Ajax seems to a selling club that sells top young talent but uses the proceeds to bring in many established players. It’s a good strategy to keep the club competitive, and also have the ability to keep the model going (as opposed to say a team like Southampton who sells all their talent to contenders and pockets the profit only to get relegated)

Yeah the strategy over the last 5 years has been exactly that. Get a few experienced players who didn't quite make it at the top but where the scouting department actually think they are underrated and do have a very high level. Guys like Tadic and Blind. Add in some foreign talent like Antony and Kudus, then fill up the rest with homegrown youth players.
It's always gonna be an uphill battle against the big money clubs but I'm convinced with good transfer policy and scouting we should be able to consistently make it to the CL quarters 3-4 times in a decade. Not sure about ever winning it again, the stars would really have to align for that to happen.

in all honesty while CL QF might sounds impressive in the EL there is actual silverware to realistictly contend for
CL is rigged for clubs from "smaller" countries anyway
and I'm aware I'm referring to the safety net here that I absolutely despise but the rules are what they are so better benefit from them lol+++ miscin' at work crew +++
