fair enough but you said madrid dropped off a cliff when they clearly haven't, it's moreso barca
madrid racked up 76 points in ronaldo's last season with them, in his 9 seasons madrid only beat an 87 points total by a margin of >6 (2 wins) twice, seems like ronaldo leaving has had absolutlely zero impact on them?
kind of like his zero impact on juventus and united?

It's not nearly that simple. First of all, they only won those last two CLs because of bad refereeing. A tournament isn't a great way to assess who's actually be best either. In a knockout competition luck plays a huge role, which is why Chelsea were able to win a Champions League when they were 6th in the PL.
Secondly, Real Madrid have been doing better in La Liga since Ronaldo left. Finally, while I really hope it happens, it's still unlikely Real Madrid will actually fail to qualify from their group. They are only one point behind the teams tied for second and there are still four games left to play. There isn't a great team in the group so Real Madrid is still more likely than not to make it.

Yeh luck plays a role in any competition, you can always pick out multiple wrong decisions or pieces of bad luck that cost league titles also
The UCL is by far and away the biggest prize in club football, to win you have to beat at least 3 top sides, and all but one of the ties you have to win across 2 legs.
Prior to Real Madrid nobody had ever repeated, these dudes 3 peated and went 4/5. That is not luck, that is dominance. Most successful club side ever no doubt about it6'1, 205 lbs

Yeh last night was fantastic for 2 reasons. The first half, when under pressure, we remained compact and barely gave them a sniff at goal. The second half, with this diamond formation and a tweak in personnel, they couldn’t live with us and the goals scored were fantastic. I just hope we can start replicating this form in the league as we are far too inconsistent. We should be beating Arsenal at the weekend, they’re gash.

for those watching the Antwerp - Tottenham game here's a bit of football tradition porn:
they're currently building a new stadium, about half of it is finished
the stand you see at the top in the pic above however is still standing and it's the stand you'll see from the main cameras
they had to paint it completely white for UEFA though... (srs) looks like ****
here's a view from said stand with a look on the new stands they're building, this is a few months old already though
I know the new stadium is necessary to be able to compete in modern football but looking at that old stadium gives me all kind of footy feels
everything is for sale except tradition

as you can tell from the 4th pic the stand is really decrepit and UEFA commented that this wasn't good for the image
so the club proposed to cover the stand with giant banners but this wasn't allowed by UEFA
eventually they just decided to clear the weeds (literally, see pic 4 lmfao) and give it a coat of paint...
they did this yesterday so it was sort of last minute
it's their first European game there in 26 years (not counting Intertoto), last year they played their games in the national stadium (Heysel stadium, I'm sure you know it for the wrong reasons)+++ miscin' at work crew +++

Just watched the Juve v Barca replay. Really awkward game, Barca's finishing was poor across the board but their attack was otherwise not bad. Could have easily been a 2-1 game for Messi.
Btw how sad is it that two of the best players in history are likely to end their career in empty stadiums...ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

1-0 final score
pretty big upset tbh, Tottenham must've underestimated them there is no other explanation lol
don't get me wrong, Antwerp is a solid team and is very hard to play against but they should never form a problem for a Premier League side lmfao
if they can beat LASK at home next week they already have one leg into the knockout stage+++ miscin' at work crew +++
