City not in great form, too inconsistent especially in the big games. Also serial knockout chokers
Real Madrid riding high after the league win, I'd back them

Even as someone who's not a city fan, its frustrating to watch.
In a big game you would expect Jon Stones or zinchenko to screw up and create an opportunity for the opposing team.
But last year in the second leg against tottenham, their most reliable defender of the season (laporte) handed tottenham 2 goals on a silver platter with individual errors. I don't think he made any individual errors that season before that point..

You'll find i'm capable of reproducing your daft observations as well.
Since Ronaldo has joined Juventus they've regressed, they've been knocked out by Ajax and Lyon (#7 in the worst league in europe). They reached 2 of the last 4 finals prior to his arrival and had only been knocked out by Bayern or Real Madrid earlier. All this because they've had to change their style to serve King Ronaldo and it's made the team worse because they've changed their formula of success to cater to a player way past his prime.
Let me tell you what's changed with Real Madrid since you can't see past your profound infatuation with Ronaldo.
Benzema is 32, Kroos is 30, Marcelo is 32, Modric is 34, Ramos is 34, Bale is 31 and zidane won't play him.
The average age of Real Madrid's key players is now 32. When they were winning these players were all in their prime providing Ronaldo with silver platter service as he rarely creates solo goals in his 30s.
Ronaldo had a good game today, he scored a penalty and a nice 25 yard shot.
But like I said many times, Ronaldo is not a game changer anymore unless he receives silver platter service. He's a goal poacher.
46% of his goals this year have been penalties 30% have been tap ins.

Yeh the whole squad went from world class in 2018 to past their best and liabilities in 2019 lmao
The last time Real Madrid made it to even a Quarter Final without CR7 was 2004. With him they reach 8 consecutive semi finals, and win half of those years.
Its simple, Real Madrid are only good when Ronaldo carried them, and Barca were only good when Xavi/Iniesta carried them6'1, 205 lbs

Since Ronaldo joined juve, they have scored 7 goals in 6 UCL Knockout games
RONALDO SCORED ALL 7
Juve have a short window here with the GOAT man to win them their first ever UCL. Right now they're doing a shocking job of building the team. Last summer they decided to buy 3 CBs aged between 19-21 for a total of £115m, rather than fixing the numerous holes in midfield and attackLast edited by LukeS1; 08-08-2020 at 05:29 AM.

You clearly don't watch barca. If a team has a pulse, they have a chance against that team.
They're terrible, literally the worst major team in europe. Messi missed 11 games in the last 2 years and Barcelona only won 3 of those without him. At the moment, without messi this team is AC milan, they wont't finish in a champions league position.

I think you underestimate Real Madrid's supporting cast. Sergio Ramos is one of the GOATs, Bale may be inconsistent but he was the MOTM and deciding factor in 2 of Real Madrid's 4 UCL. Casemiro has been better than Busquets now for years and has been a beast in Semi final, even winning a MOTM in a UCL final with real madrid. Modric is a Ballon D'or winner and carried croatia through the world cup. Xavi and Iniesta have never won a Ballon d'or
Juve is doing a terrible job building this team. The problem is that they can't build properly out of the midfield and service Ronaldo in the right position.
I would argue that they would be a better team had they somehow purchased Messi instead of Ronaldo, I would also argue that Ronaldo made the wrong choice going to Juventus, if he went to Man City who creates more chances than any other team, he would still be banging in 60 goals a season and they might be UCL winners. That team is perfectly designed for him, Juve never was.
Ronaldo plays the knife's edge of the game, that role requires support, it requires service. Although Ronaldo plays well individually and scores alot of goals, he doesn't do anything to improve the team or the players around him other than the occasional pep talk. He needs the team behind him to be completely world class so they can take advantage of his abilities to finish in the box.
Messi is a deep lying playmaker and goalscorer
He has the best chance creation, key pass, throughball, assists, dribbling and goal scoring combination in the history of the sport. His shot conversion is much better than Ronaldo's as well.
What Juve need is a player like Messi to become the engine of the team open up the game and create better chances for others.
The downside is Juventus would lose their aerial presence in the box, and Messi's penalty conversion isn't quite as high as ronaldo's 78% vs 83%. However, Ronaldo has wasted 49 out of the last 50 free kick's he's taken. Messi would have scored atleast 10 of those, which would make up for his 2-3 penalty misses.
Overall Juve would be better off and to be fair, if you remove Ronaldo's penalties.. He's only scored 20 goals this season.. The same as Sancho for example.
Keep in mind there is more to this game than goals. Ronaldo has only produced better goal contribution numbers than Messi 1 time in the last 15 seasons.Last edited by Merretto; 08-08-2020 at 07:13 AM.

I agree with the guy that said Ronaldo should move on, kinda a shame to waste the end of his prime in a talentless squad like that , which has no shot
PSG would be fun, with Neymar and Mbappe either side. Ronaldo would be exactly what they need to get over their choking and finally win one. There isn't really fit for him in the Prem, and Bayern wouldn't go for him when they have Lewa I guess6'1, 205 lbs

Id love to see Messi try a new challenge as well. This Barca squad isn't what they used to be. Still a top 5, probably top 3 team in the World though
We all just wana see if he can prove himself in another environment, another league etcLast edited by LukeS1; 08-08-2020 at 08:13 AM.
