Went snowboarding with some friends last night and ran into a ton of people that I haven't seen in a while. We had a great time and a barrel of laughs. I even stayed upright for the most part and didn’t even break my ass this time (bonus), but the huggers were out in full force. The ladies especially, I think a couple of the guys wanted to come in for a squeeze but I saw them coming and threw out the fist bump.

Let's get this out there right away, I am NOT a hugger, never have been, never will be.

IMO: unless we are going to be knocking boots, slapping guts, playing hide the weiner, doing the horizontal bop or whatever you want to call it then we don’t need to be hugging. Hugging should only be done naked, between a man and woman or lesbians (pockets likes to watch naked lesbians hug)

How about you guys/gals, are ya huggers? Fess up, I promise I won’t hold it against ya.

But I hug all my family members, brothers' sisters, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, brother/sister in-laws etc etc. And my immediate family, definitely!

I'm not a hugger by nature but have a couple stories.

FLEX hugged my Wife when we met last, he has this shoulders only perfect Gentleman's hug. I've used it often.

If I'm hugging you due to a death, I'm full body squeezing, man or woman.

I have a friend, she’s a surgeon and will tell you straight up, I am not hugging you, it’s pretty funny because she is so tiny and hot. I think everyone wants to go full Joe Biden on her and she will stop everyone in their tracks.

I am not like that or at least at that stage yet. I will give a hug but never initiate it.

A couple of reservations that I have on hugging are, I am a slight germaphobe, nothing big, don’t wash my hands a thousand times a day or live in a bubble, but I am conscious of it.

This one is a bit bigger, I have an allergy to certain scents, some perfumes, colognes, soaps etc… trigger it and my snot locker will stog up, if it’s strong enough, eyes will itch and throat will get scratchy. Mens cologne seem to be worse, I can’t wear any, but perhaps it only worse because it’s on me, I dunno, not going around sniffing guys to find out lol The missus had a hand lotion, if she cracked the bottle, I would start sneezing immediately.
I didn’t always be this way and I believe it’s Karma, whenever I was with friends and we were passing through an area with perfume, colognes etc, I would grab tester bottles and spray them MF’ers when they weren’t looking, they would leave the store with a smorgasbord of scents, They caught on quick and it didn’t last long but it was fun while it lasted. So if I am getting a hug from you, don’t hug me long because I am holding my breath, will turn blue and then you can call me Poppa Smurf

Lastly, I get excited very easily, hug me too long and then you can call me Poppa Boner.

Nope, don't need to hug or air kiss or any other silliness when I have a good solid handshake (but not excessive like trying to prove something, which is more annoying than a hugger).

Always find hugging awkward especially if they look like they were about to hug but look unsure. I do have some relatives who kiss on both cheeks as the French custom and even a Swiss-French who does their kiss 3 times R-L-R greeting. Nope, a firm handshake is better.
