Aphrodite's Child - "Aegean Sea" (1972)
Vangelis Papathanassiou - "So Long Ago, So Clear" (1975)
(featuring Jon Anderson) from an album "Heaven and Hell"
I first came to know him when he was with a Greek band Aphrodite's Child and their progressive rock classic album "666", and later collaborations with singer Jon Anderson(YES) before his most famous work, "Chariots of Fire" (1982)

more Marc Bolan....cause he's awesome
Also, I don't think Alice gets enough credit as a musician, these are two of my faves - if you ever get to listen to Billion Dollar Babies on vinyl, it's really amazing - very gritty and raw.
this such an insane song (pun intended) but really, Alice has come incredible lyrics

Supertramp - "Lady" (1975) ________________________Styx - "Lady" (1973)
Supertramp and Styx are two of my most favorite bands in the same era. One is a British and other is an American band. But for some reason or other, when one name comes up in my mind then other name does too. Funny......
-----------------------------
And here is another song, the very one and the reason I fell in love with Styx.
Styx - "Come Sail Away" (1977)

I love Paul McCartney's uneven, sometimes lazy 1970's output. Another Day should have been titled Another Song. All Things Must Pass is a listening masterpiece.
If you want to see what the definition of a Rock God, watch Rockshow which is Wings' 1976 concert at the Seattle Kingdome. McCartney sings his ASS off.
Here's a FREE 1975 concert.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4T4biiXqvs

Barclay James Harvest
- "Poor Man's Moody Blues" (1977)
- "Titles" (1975)
Two of my favorite songs that bring back good memories.
"Poor Man's Moody Blues" was written after a journalist angered the band by referring to Barclay James Harvest as a "poor man's Moody Blues". In response, guitarist John Lees wrote a song which sounded like the Moody Blues song "Nights in White Satin", but in fact was cleverly not the same - the words would not fit. Justin Hayward was not pleased; meeting him years later, bassist Les Holroyd apologised for it.
"Titles" was written as a musical and lyrical homage to the Beatles.
Oh well, unfortunately I have all their albums.......haha.

I'm always surprised (but probably shouldn't be) by how many of my American friends and colleagues are unfamiliar with Aussie bands like Chisel, Aus Crawl, the Angels etc. Definitely as good as INXS etc, who had much bigger profiles overseas. I guess that every country has their favourites that just don't make it elsewhere.
Some Australian Crawl from late 70s
