I once suggested to other band members, "Let's do this cover the next gig!!"

They sighed and told me to get lost......"Where have you been tool, on Mars?"

I was once 20s and now 60. LOL, loved and still love this song!! Oh, well but people change....change in appearance.

Forty years on, we all change and you look amazing, Kaz. The song you love was picked up by every school and pub band around the country, we heard it in every club and it always pulled a large crowd onto the dance floor. It's like someone flicked the switch and I was there on the floor!!

Your band members were correct to give the audience what they wanted. So, how did you like Mars?

Actually I am a huge fan of Joan Jett Her first single "I Love Rock 'n Roll" was released in 1979, but Billboard Hot 100 number-one single was re-recorded 1982 version with the Blackhearts. So I think she is basically a 80s rock star.

Marc Bolan would have been one of the all time greats if he hadn't died so young. When I think 70s music, this is the first that comes to mind:



This is a little known band out of Columbus, OH. Fairwarning - this song is long and had to have been written while on copious amounts of drugs, but it is a great unknown classic rock song and there's a "monologue" in the middle of it

Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM) - "River of Life" (1973)

PFM came to the attention of Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer while ELP was on an Italian tour. ELP arranged for PFM sign to their own label, Manticore Records. The first album on Manticore, Photos of Ghosts was released all across Europe, Japan, the USA and Canada and was the first time an Italian rock band found success in foreign markets. It was also one of the first recordings by a mainland European rock group to have chart success in the United States, peaking at #180 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in November 1973.

This band's song was so beautiful, which made me try to learn Italian (my failed attempt!).
