Have 3 different cards all paid off in full but they have chit for rewards. Need to stop being lazy and find something that is giving me some kind of cash back or something.
Credit score is high 7's/low 8's.
Only spend about $1200-1500/month on it and always pay it off in full.
Looking for something with good rewards like % cash back. I don't really travel regularly so airlines/hotels/perks like that aren't something I'm interested in.
Probably spend the most at costco every month (like 300-500). They actually offer a visa that does 4% on gas, 3% on restaurants, 2% on all costco purchases and 1% on everything else. Doesn't seem bad, but if there was something out there that was just like a flat 2-3% cash back on all purchases I'd be more interested in that probably.
What yall got these days?
Reps for good recommendations.
edit: also, is it bad to continuously get new cards? A lot of the cards I've looked at have great introductory offers for like the first year, then the rewards drop off a lot. Is it bad if you keep getting new cards like every year or two to take advantage of intro rewards programs? Right now I have two cards I literally don't use at all. Then one I use and pay off every month. My credit score dropped earlier this year because they said my activity was low and I didn't have any debt (lol - shouldn't I be rewarded for that?!?).
edit 2: preferably a visa, since that's all costco accepts?

I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom, and Chase Ink Preferred but I tend to use points for travel.
Chase Sapphire Preferred and Freedom have rotating categories where you can get extra bonuses on things like gas, going to the grocery store, etc. Sounds like what you're looking for.
If you want a flat 1.5% something like the Chase Freedom Unlimited would be good. Great for cash back.A hit was sent, from the President, to raid your residence /

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to sword_ again.
Looked up the chase freedom unlimited - they offer 3% cash back on everything for first year up to 20k. That sounds really damn appealing. Question though - is it bad to continuously get new cards? A lot of the cards I've looked at have great introductory offers for like the first year, then the rewards drop off a lot. Is it bad if you keep getting new cards like every year or two to take advantage of intro rewards programs? Does that fuk with ur credit score at all?
thanks for the piss advice of ass in smack city my boyo. You a vet? interdasting... maybe that's a solid clue of who ur original misc account was.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DrWilliam again. My man always comin through with good financial help, thank you.
That looks pretty damn good. Only gripe is it's a masters card, and costco only accepts visa... I guess I could get a separate visa rewards card to only use at costco though.Awesome pics. Great size. I got the Sapphire Preferred Card and got the 50k bonus. I used that card for a year and then was eligible to upgrade to the Sapphire Reserve Card. All my existing points were upgraded as well, so I “got” more points.

Chase Sapphire Reserve crew.
Highly recommended especially if you travel at all. Use it for everything and pay it off in full like any CC so you never have to pay interest.
It's $450/yr but $300 is instantly reimbursed in full off statement for any travel related purchases. Flights, hotels, even ubers to the bar or i recently found out even food orders off ubereats lmao. Everyone uses $300/yr on that stuff to say the least, so long story short it's $150 a year.
Every food or travel purchase you make on it (like chickfila, restaurants, bars, etc) earns you 3 points to the dollar instead of 1.
If you redeem your points on travel (hotels/flights/experiences), you actually get 50% more. So say you had enough points to get a CASH reward of $1000. If you decided to spend on travel through the portal instead, you'd get $1,500 worth of travel etc.
If you're a nerd and do the math, that means for every $100 you spend on food or travel on the card, you get $4.50 back in free travel. That's 4.5% my guy. that's lit, chit adds up. not to mention initial signing bonus.
And it has countless other LEGIT LEGIT perks but i'll let you look those up I've gotten thousands from the free airport lounges around the world in just free food and alcohol lmao. i go HAM on those things (all free in lounge), and we all know airport prices..free Global Entry...travel insurance...so much sexy chit
edit; it's also the most aesthetic card out there srs and it's made of metal and ur name/details are laser imprinted. when u hand it to sloots to pay for chit u can tell the humidity rises from how wet they get srs. they can legit feel the weight of ur bank acct compared to other cucksLast edited by Spahgetti; 08-19-2019 at 08:58 PM.

So I know with the Sapphire line of cards they changed their eligibility policies on their cards in that class from two years to four years. I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred and wanted to get the Reserve, but I wouldn't be eligible for the bonus for it even if I signed up because it was less than 4 years. I have to wait until May 2020 to be eligible.
It won't mess up your score having multiple cards. Opening and closing multiple cards will sure, but "churning" is only bad if you can't pay things off on time.A hit was sent, from the President, to raid your residence /

well after doing research it looks like the Chase Freedom Unlimited is the best option for me (shout out to Sword).
3% cash back on everything up to 20k the first year. Then drops to 1.5%. So I'm thinking I'm gonna get that and use it for a year, then maybe switch to the Citi Double Cash (2%).
Also people recommending the travel cards... I said I don't really travel at all in the OP. Way to waste all that typing lol.Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. That's what I have, was the best fixed rate cashback card I could find in my research since like OP I have no interest in travel miles. 3% on restaurants/bars, 2% on groceries, and 1% for everything else. I got mine in April I think and have around $300 in rewards banked right now. It's not a ton but at the end of the year it'll be a nice little bonus for me to put towards a bigger purchase, and it's literally free money as long as you don't mismanage it.

I have an Amex Platinum and while the annual fee isn't small ($195), they really treat you very well as long as you're a good customer.
I'm also loyal to Delta and Hilton and have 250k+ miles and points ready to go. It is a no-brainer if you travel for work.
For home use, I have one of the Chase cards that gives 5% back in money every month. I bank with them normally so they're familiar and I haven't had any problems.Advocate for the Extinction of Starfish as a Species

Chase Sapphire products and the Chase Freedom are all very good cards, so you can't go wrong with any of those. Plus, Chase is easily the best credit card issuer along with AMEX.
If you travel a decent amount and eat out at lot, I'll mention this one since it hasn't been mentioned yet: American Express Gold Card
-4% at restaurants in US and worldwide
-4% at US supermarkets, up to 25k a year
-3% for travel booked through Amex
It has a $250 annual fee, but it's slashed by $120 dining credit ($10 per month for 12 months) and $100 airline fee credit, so the effective fee is essentially $30.
Plus, the sign up bonus is pretty nice (look for 50K MR points) and the card is easily one of the most aesthetic around.
