The state of Israel does many nasty things. But ask yourself whether you as a (I presume) non-Moslem and non-Jew would rather move to and work in Israel, or Gaza. Israel, or Saudi Arabia. Countries which are democracies and have rule of law, however flawed, tend to be better places to live than countries lacking freedoms and rule of law. Israel, like the United States and other Western democracies has an illegal immigration problem; most Islamic countries do not. Ask yourself why people want to live in these countries but don't want to live in those other countries.

It's not the particular religion as such, it's that the religion is part of the machinery of the state. European countries mostly kicked the Church out of government by the early 19th century. Many Islamic countries have kept it there. The secular Islamic countries are the ones we in the West keep invading and bombing, like Iraq and Syria.

That's simply because we in the West like our democracy at home, but we're not keen on it in foreign countries. If you have a dictator or absolute monarch, you can just give him a stack of cash and he does what you want. If you're dealing with a democracy, maybe the people will vote to tell you to fck off. We don't want Saudi Arabia etc to be democracies because the people's democratic will may be to tell us to go away. So we continue propping up murderous regimes ignoring the rule of law.

What people need to understand is this isn't just a religious thing as much as it is about cultural norms which most of the world has supported for generations and generations and the family was alive and well at those times, including here in the USA. People had kids and large units, families were strong, morals were better than now, divorce rates were few and between, etc. A woman leaving her husband in the dark about her stupid ass festivals and meshing it up with other people WHILE being a mother is looked down upon in the majority of the world and it used to be looked down upon in the West as little as a few decades ago. Now we are bombarded with this "you don't need no husband or man tellin ya what do do gurrrrll!" bull**** by the media, making the mother completely care free of her family's and husband's honor.

No matter what they say, women will respect a iron fist. The man was always the core column to the family, if the man gives way to stupidity, the woman will see it and she will devalue him in her eyes. When she loses respect for him, the family is done for.
