What does "press" mean in a lifting routine?

I am new to lifting vocabulary and lifting too of course.

I've seen the word "press" in a lifting routine. I was not sure what it meant, does it mean a bench press? Shoulder press? I've seen this more than once in workout programs.

Here is an example: trainingiq[dot]com/warm-up . In the "SPECIFIC WARM-UP‍" section of the article in a list it says "1. x, 2. Press, 3. y".

Think of press as a synonym for push. You will hear lots about push/pull routines as well.

A press would be a movement that starts the shortening cycle with a concentric movement away from the body.

It's basically been said already but "Press" with no other terms means standing strict barbell-press. Then you have bench-press, push-press, etc.
