    Question For Keto Dieters

Had a question for you guys on keto... When you run your carbs low and fully deplete yourself of glycogen dont your muscles go 'flat' and stay that way?

    Former keto'er here.

Yes when cutting carbs/glycogen replenishment, you're generally more "flat".

Now are you asking if they stay that way forever?? No. Just replenish your glycogen stores.

Then yes, you'll generally be more flat on keto. However, some protein (especially if you're consuming more than recommended amounts on keto) will be converted to glucose. The only problem with that is, depending on your "level" of ketosis, that could temporarily knock you out of ketosis, which really isn't a HUGE deal. But that's why it's recommended not to overdo it on protein while running keto.
