I am 39 1/2 and I still lose fat pretty quickly when I cut.
I also have almost the same size I had at 25 yo but I have lost so much strength... also because of joint problems that forced me to change my workout style entirely after 30 yo (no more bench press, light squat, high reps everywhere, etc.)
Protein intake must be calculated on lean body mass, not on body weight

Just turned 45, no change in fact I'm getting lean easily and still getting stronger.

No difference in fat loss. That's always been easy for me. Strength gains a bit slower, but that could be in my head. Biggest change is aches/pains in joints, but it's doable as long as I'm smart and responsible. I'm still able to lift heavy low reps with squats/dl bench etc just dandy. The only time I have issues is when my form is less than stellar, whereas when I was younger I could get away with it more often. I'm 38 btw, but I think I age slower than most, I usually get called late 20's/early 30's...so we'll see if this changes when I hit mid 40s.
