Overall: It just takes time.
But in the meantime, stick to no contact (don't reach out even if he/she contacts you first), don't stalk his/her social media, Give up on him/her completely and don't hope for reconciliation, stay busy, lift, take care of yourself, do good in school/work, do hobbies and socialize with friends and family and after 6 months you'll feel considerably better.

Music, books, PS4, gym and friends. That's what helped me. Not in a moment, but it was very fast. Especially Gym+Music, 'cause in a gym you can get rid of all your emotions.

Find someone else to distract you, whether you are just simply flirting or going all out. It takes time nonetheless especially if you had strong feelings for them.

I think my advice can help you a lot. You can forget easily and that is you just need one more girl. A new girlfriend. Spend some time with her and you see that you have overcome from your ex. Try this and you will feel better.
