First what do you bench now?
So do you mean June 2020?
Second if you really want to do it you must dedicate yourself to that goal and be serious about it.
Probably gaining some weight can help.
Research technique, assistance work and programs to get going on the right track.
Have a diet and training log.
If your going to be swimming also this could take away from your goal of a 225 BP with extra energy expenditure and recovery focusing on two separate activities.
So there's something for you to think about.

I'm not saying it's impossible... I'm just saying I don't see very many 155 lb guys at my gym benching 225. I definitely don't see any 155 lb teenagers benching 225.

Good luck to ya. Surprise yourself, your friends, and us.

If you don't bench anywhere near 225 right now, consider not bothering w/ the bet since I'm assuming the overall training and weight gain likely required would not be great for your swimming routine. I'm assuming it's pride and not a big dollar amount at stake.

Considering you didn't even tell us how much you bench now and your username is idkhowtolift I am going to say no, you will not do this. If you are serious about making this happen you should look at getting some powerlifting coaching as proper form will help tremendously and you will also need to eat a lot and lift using a good routine (something you will not be able to cobble together on your own). This will probably either replace your swimming or make your swimming performance suffer.

If you eat up to 225lbs.. Its possible.
School year end is like next July?

If you are unwilling to eat a **** tonne and put a lot of time and effort into mastering technique then don't bother

You've got to love the blind confidence of a 15 year old. How are a bunch of 15 year old going to get treated to a steak dinner by another 15 year old. I would just laugh this one off and act like you never made the bet when they come calling next year.

Win or lose you need to work on your negotiation skills my friend. The value of a steak dinner is far more than 20 bucks per person especially if they get to choose the location. I would still use this as kick starter to get into weight training though just don't only focus on benching. Get yourself on a good beginner program and you can make a lot of progress over the next year, starting some of the best years of your life to progress rapidly.

It may be possible and since you're just developing some man muscles who knows what your crazy hormones will allow you to do. Having said that, to bench a lot requires more than just benching, you need a well developed back (rows), and well developed triceps to meet your goals. In addition don't forget your shoulders (OHP). Striving to meet your goal shouldn't harm your swimming performance if you concentrate on developing strength and not just size. You should also work on other parts of your body too, which will help with swimming, so look at WS4SBv3. If you're interested in BP only, the Westside BP book is pretty good (once you become familiar with the material).

buy them the steak dinner now. I am betting you wont make it. As a beginner, one form mistake after lifting wrong for 3 months, and boom, drop 40 pounds off the bar to re learn how to do it properly.

Hes referencing this study (I assume)
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3229674/

But it specifically looked at using chlorinated pools before the ages of 7 or 10. A lot of limitations and possible issues plus I can't find anything remotely similar to back any claims up. Either way its not enough to say simply being a swimmer now will cause any problems.

Is it possible? Yes. But is it likely? No.

If you want to achieve this goal it will take a lot of work on your part. You need to get in the gym and practice benching and general strength building. Given your age and being on the tail end of puberty, that is an advantage. But many people struggle to get to benching 150% of their body weight as goal over several years. If you want to achieve it you will need lots of practice, and you may also need to put on 20 pounds.

But given where you stand now, it will definitely not happen if you don't put the work in. And start soon - you have a lot of work ahead of you.
