ABB W2D1:
Bit of a weird day today but got all the work in. In the morning after work, pull ladders for 30 total reps in the morning.
In the afternoon, did some ascents at a local hill with the family and our local ruck club - 1 mile with about 400' elevation, 50# ruck. It's three times up and down our big training hill. I brought my daughter up the first time, and then each of my sons the other two times. We normally don't get to do this with them due to our schedules, so we took advantage of it.
After dinner and before work, burpees, 100 reps in 12:21. Flew through the first 30 (water for first 16), then the CFA kicked in and I had to slow down or puke. The nasal breathing was tough today.

ABB W2D2:
Had to go back to work for a few hours in the morning after my shift, so I came home and knocked out an easy 30 minute run on the hills. Tired and sore so nothing overwhelming, but I got it in. Positive note - I ran for almost 5 minutes straight with the water trick, definite improvement.
Later on, took my oldest son to a Scout meeting and hit 100 one arm swings with the 16kg in under 5 minutes out in the parking lot. Didn't get the get-ups in because it started to pour rain and we got a tornado warning. By the time I got home I had just enough time to get ready for work, so I will do the get-ups tomorrow (Friday) since it's an off day.

Trained over the weekend. Mostly the same stuff, although Friday night I joined a buddy of mine who was taking on the 4x4x48 challenge, rucking each mile. I joined them about midnight and we knocked out just over 4 miles together.
ABB W3D1:
45 minute run, 3.57 miles, 521' elevation. In just under two weeks I'm running half a mile further on the same route for the same time. The nasal breathing was easy today, definitely getting it locked in.
After my son's birthday party shenanigans, I knocked out 100 burpees in 12:01 (nasal breathing as much as possible - best time yet, and over 4 minutes faster than the first time I tried this) and then did pull-up ladders for 27 total reps.

Thanks, ISIS.
ABB W3D2:
Morning - 100 one arm swings with 16kg in under 5 minutes, 5 Turkish get-ups per side with 16kg in under 10 minutes. Smoked both StrongFirst times.
Evening - BB ruck for 45 minutes, 2.78 miles, 214' elevation. I was moving today - if it wasn't for waiting to go through crosswalks, I would have had 3 miles easy.

ABB W3D3:
Burpees were slow today, sore and started late (11pm) so I was dead tired, took me just under 16 minutes. Pull-ups however were on point - 36 total reps for the ladders, best yet. I started the run but my right knee is bugging me so I passed on it.
ABB W3D4:
Knee felt better, so knocked out about 4 miles with my ruck club while pushing the baby stroller. In the evening, knocked out my 100 one arm swings and 5 Turkish get-ups per side. Time to progress to the 24kg.

ABB W3D5:
My car was getting worked on, so I did my 45 minute run through the Italian section of the city while it was in the shop. Had a great run, 4.01 miles in 45 minutes, 274' elevation.
In the evening, decided to test my 100 burpees with normal breathing to see if there was a difference. Total time - 8:08, pretty sure that's a PR. I then did pull-up pyramids for a total of 33 reps.Last edited by GrouchyUSMC; 11-01-2021 at 08:38 PM.

Training was erratic over the weekend - I was just beat all weekend long, hard to get motivated.
Saturday I did 150 burpees in 16:56 and did my pull-up ladders but only hit 17 reps.
Sunday was only a 2 mile ruck with 45#, 28:56. Started after midnight so technically this was Monday morning I guess.
Monday was 150 burpees in 16:25 and that's it. No time or energy for anything else.
Hopefully a good sleep and some rest tomorrow will fix things.

Training a bit lackluster for a week there, was really run down due to a crazy work and life schedule.
Did 100 burpees while waiting for a Zoom meeting (sets of 10-15 with a few minutes in between so I wasn't sweating like a hooker in a confessional booth for it) one day. Another day, I grabbed a 73# sandbag and knocked out a 1-10 ladder of cleans, presses, and front squats in less than 20 minutes.
Sunday - Cardiovascular Punishment, 7 rounds in 30 minutes. Total reps - 70 burpees, 70 four count mountain climbers, 70 eight count bodybuilders, 70 jumping jacks.
Monday - Easy 3 mile hill run, 38:12, 346' elevation. Blowing the stink off.

Catching up a bit.
Sunday - 1-10-1 pyramid of ruck push-ups and ruck squats, with stairs in between. 45# ruck. Do push-ups at the top of the stairs, go down, squats at the bottom, then go back up the stairs for each tier of the pyramid. Total work - 100 ruck push-ups (all clean reps), 100 ruck squats, 1178 steps (I don't count down). Took me 53 minutes.

Base Building went well, big improvement in running and burpees which was the goal. Starting a TRX-heavy paid program now, should be fun.
20211208:
TRX lower body work, lots unilateral exercises. TRX hamstring bridges were designed by Satan. Supposed to finish with 100 burpees, but slept funny so my right shoulder wasn't feeling it.

20211209:
TRX upper body workout. Pull-ups, ruck push-ups, TRX inverted rows, TRX flyes, bench dips, TRX biceps curls.
20211212:
Went camping for the weekend, tried fitting something in beforehand but didn't have the time. So Sunday night I knocked out a quick TRX core circuit of ab wheel roll outs, TRX supermans, TRX plank saws, and butterfly sit-ups.
20211213:
TRX upper body workout. Chin-ups, sandbag strict presses, TRX inverted rows, TRX triceps extensions, feet elevated push-ups, and TRX reverse flyes. 1.5 mile run to wrap things up.

20211215:
TRX lower body workout. Knee height box jumps, TRX single leg squats, rucksack split squats, TRX hamstring bridges, rucksack lunges, and jumping air squats. My legs are basically telling me to go @#$% myself right now.
20211216:
TRX upper body workout. Dead hang pull-ups, rucksack push-ups, TRX inverted rows, TRX flyes, sandbag strict presses, and TRX biceps curls. Finished with a 1.5 mile run.

thanks for the thumbs up on my progress! i appreciate it very much. i lurk in your journal frequently...which is a bit creepy, i guess. think i'm gonna add bodybuilders back into my routine.
p.s. my hubs is a former corpsman. he never wanted to acknowledge his service because of how he was treated when he came home from viet nam. one year, i bought him a ball cap with the caduceus on it and the words "u.s. navy corpsman" embroidered above and below. he sobbed. then he asked for a second one right away because he knew he was going to wear out this first one..

Vietnam veterans had a rough time, I always go out of my way to thank any Vietnam vets I can identify for their service. My uncle actually did several tours in Vietnam as part of Marine Recon, he died at 36 due to a massive heart attack after a morning run as a Gunnery Sergeant with just two years left to retirement.
Tell your husband thank you for his service. Marines love their corpsmen.

1/10/22:
Brute Force "Benchmark" WOD. 20 minute AMRAP. I managed a total of 40 Brute Force Burpees, 80 sandbag lateral drags from plank position, and 34 thrusters with a 60# sandbag. Room for improvement.
I then did a timed 1 mile run because I haven't done one in a long time. 8:21. Definitely room for improvement there.
