Does being in a defecit longer then usual effect the cut over all?

Been cutting for a few months and am almost where I need to be to start seeing some definition finally lol. I’ve been eating around 1800 cals a day I’m 5’7 155. I was big in a shirt as in muscle but soft without so I started cutting and not my chest and tris and quads are a lot more defined but me and a few people have said I look significantly smaller and am now worried I’m losing too much muscle with this cut. I’ve noticed my strength take a big hit. I drink 2 scoops of whey with 1-2 protein bars plus a main meal with 6 oz of chicken and that is around 120-140 protein a day. I do 5/3/1 fsl currently to get some Strength back

Here’s my before and after and I can see an increase in muscle definition but just seem to be getting a lot smaller then I thought

Definitely not 48 I’m 21 idk how to change

Its the $hitty reality of cutting, everyone wants to believe they have more muscle then they really do. Strength loss in a cut is normal, but you've only lost 5 lbs from this post last December, and your pics are still the same. Therefore you shouldn't be losing any strength because you haven't actually done anything.

Whenever I'm about to do something, I think to myself, 'Would an idiot do that?' And if they would, I do not do that thing.

You're not an "ectomorph", you're an underdeveloped undereater.

If you are going to be in a long term deficit it is useful to through some two week diet breaks at maintenance in there

He's lost 5 lbs in 8 months, not exactly a strong candidate for a diet break.

Didn't go back in his history to notice (or see your post when I commented) so yeah, definitely not. For other people reading this thread with the same question a diet break can be useful when in a long term deficit but that means a sustained deficit, not 5 lbs in 8 months.
