Homelander and Butcher make the show. Especially Homelander, that crazy little evil-superman psycho.
Hughie is the main protagonist in the source material and him banging Starlight is plot important. That said, they eviscerated a lot of the original comic so it's whatever.Originally Posted by deeAvi

binged it 9/10. great writing. a few cringe moments with the romance plots but i can look past it.

Hard to stop watching. I binged in a couple days and want more dammit. Good writing, great cast. Solid special effects. Nice dark humor. I enjoyed every scene.

Solid show. Cool to see something different with no fuks given. Always been a Karl Urban fan, Homelander character is well done, and as agree with the poster above, The Deep is a misc character.
And what they get right with this series and dialogue is the characters are interesting and you understand their good and bad qualities. It's not completely black and white. Too many shows are unable to give their characters proper depth but they did a good job with this oneBlack with a Small Hat

Working my way through this series and it's been a great refreshing take on heroes. The dark side to having such powers and how it could play out within today's society has been portrayed well. I like how it's geared for mature audiences as well and they don't hold back too much in some scenes.

The supers (or Epics as they are called in Reckoners) are ALL straight up evil. Almost no exceptions.Basically only super villains exist and no super heroes. (the reason for this is explored in the series)
There seem to be only a few supers in TB world. And apart form Homelander, no of them are that powerful. I mean powerful enough to destory a whole nation's military.
The reckoners series there seem to be hundreds of thousands of supers of varying power. And a lot of them are strong enough to crush entire countries and ngaf. consqeuntly the earth is pretty much rekt in the reckoners due to supers destroying goverments and the world pretty much is in a post-apocalyptic scenario where most of humanity lives under city-states governed by one or more supers.
