Protein Powders are so sweet they are sickening...

I must have tried dozens of protein powders over the years and have never liked any of them. Over the last couple years they have all become even worse, so sweet that they make me gag and want to vomit.

Any recommendations or commiserations?

Have you tried adding more fluid?

Not sure if you utilize milk or water for your protein shakes, but either way it shouldn't taste as sweet if you dilute it.

The Gold Standard Whey Isolate double chocolate flavor is not bad and if you dilute a scoop in 300-350 ml it's barely sweet.

+1 on eating more food.. you don't need protein shakes if you've got enough protein in your diet.

For me, I do drink the MuscleTech Nitro Whey Gold. Double Chocolate flavor. I personally find it delicious - best protein shake I've had. But I also use more water than the label calls for. I do that with everything though, I am super sensitive to sweet and flavorful. I chew 1/3 a piece of gum at a time.

I don't get it why almost everyone is so interested in the taste. IMHO the protein powder should be quality(not loaded with crap) and effective. idgaf about taste, it's not like i'm chilling enjoying a cup of coffe or tea in the morning sunrise. 2-3 sips and that's it.

I didn't said that, but I prefer taking my carbs and fat other sources. It's called protein powder not all in one powder. just saying...

If your looking for a raspberry and cookie dough unicorn sparkly flavoured foamy milk drink, go have a milkshake.

Get the protein powder with the highest quality protein you can afford and drink it as needed, or add to your food as an ingredient (hence why unflavoured is usually the better option).

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey - Double Rich Chocolate flavor would be a good option. It tastes pretty good and lacks sweetness.
