Mueller told Barr and others the reason he didn’t charge trump with obstruction wasn’t due to the OLC guidelines that you cannot indict a president. He punted to Barr, Rosenstein, and DOJ lawyers who reviewed it and said there was not evidence to charge. Barr even went as far as to say he wasn’t sure that muellers depiction of all events were accurate, but he took them as accurate and still couldn’t charge. It’s done. There is nothing mueller can say that will change that. If he does say the OLC policy, it will be muellers word against Barr and everyone else in the room who heard the multiple conversations.Originally Posted by badreligion

Muellers goal was to find any crime on trump and indict him, and he failed. In failing, he couldn’t just outright say there was nothing, so he put the burden of proof on trump to prove his innocence and said he couldn’t. There are no legal ramifications here... except that it keeps the narrative alive indefinitely. That is their goal now... to keep a false narrative alive through the election. It’s all they have.
