Fastest dude on the forum that ran his 2014 stingray bone stock with the auto was i think 11.5.
With more power, and what? 30lbs heavier? Through a proper auto (DCT), with the weight in the back now for more traction? 3 second or even a bit quicker is doable.
The C7Z/ZR were able to attain 2.8 or 2.9s 0-60 times through the auto because of torque multiplication. But it was using a torque converter.
So i think they'll be just fine with the DCT. And it's only the base model lol.
I love this so much LOL

nah I'm almost certain that time is the Z51 package which is prob gunna be like 5-7k add-on. They mentioned that 1st gear is aggressive af, plus Z51 has a eLSD and some kind of traction management thing, it's got sticky summer tires and then there's the weight all over the rear wheel to help them dig in.

I like everything about the C8 - except the back end. It looks like a Shrek sat on the rear. But, not a deal killer. The steering wheel is finally not making me rage. I like it and the interior.
Waiting for the Grand Sport. The Zo6 might be faster, but the GS gets the girls.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

You guys know why I think they priced the car so low? I think it was because of the Cadillac ELR, which is the nicest fkn cadillac ever made imo. That car failed because people believed it was priced too high. Mark Reuss was overseeing the ELRs program and he learnt from that shiz.

What? I can't believe you said that. The ELR is one of my favorite cars of all time and I don't even like the way Cadillacs look. I think you haven't seen them in person enough. They actually look really exotic. Also peoples perception of it being closely related with the volt skewed their view.

From that road and track article posted above:
"But the dual-clutch allows for the hypercar-like acceleration we mentioned—Chevy boasts that the new 'Vette has a super-low first gear and close ratios between gears two through six for ultimate acceleration. An electronic limited-slip differential and launch control further boost traction and acceleration."**MFC**

They don't. And I don't know why he's hung up about a few tenths of a second. Base model C8 vette 0-60mph is 3.xx seconds and performance trim Z06/ZR1 0-60mph is 2.xx.
He's also only thinking about OEM stock performance numbers as if this new generation vette will never be modified by anyone, ever.
Not trying to derail the thread but STEEDA has a 10r80 trans natural aspirated mustang with a stock engine.
Only real power adder is a ported cobra jet intake manifold. The rest are supporting modifications: C85 gas, tuned ECU, carbon fiber driveshaft, transbrake, exhaust, torque converter, sticky tires, full drag suspension. Some weight reduction, rear seat delete I think but that's mostly it. Car "only" makes 400ish horsepower to the wheels and runs low 10's @ 130+ MPH in the 1/4 mile.

So, after seeing the straight on view of the rear of the car, I agree that it looks horrible. It looks like a 5 year old built it from a set of Legos. Just stacking bits on top of eachother. Not that I'm getting one, but for those that do I hope there are aftermarket options to fix the looks of it.

yeah I'll give them a pass on the vents cause they're cooling related for that mid engine and cooling>aesthetics. The tailights are typical chevy bullchit and the square pipes are stupid too, I'd imagine aftermarket will be taking care of that quickly.
And that Z51 wing is ugly af, car looks way better without it**MFC**
