    To be honest I am not sure what I want to do... the C8 is a heavy front runner... but I also would love to build a bagged Lincoln Conti , which ultimately could end up cheaper than a C8 with Twins but also WAY more time consuming and not to mention eating up valuable garage space for a while...

    I just get bored easy when I don't have anything to mess with..

    yeah I think the creator of the render went overboard with them, the wing looks more like a ZR1 level one and the diffuser is straight off a race car, they ain't putting something like that on a street car.

    That's the whole point in buying these cars. Because it's fast already stock. With a warranty. Why touch what the engineers perfected?

    it's 0.2 seconds faster than the stock ZL1 (although that sucks ass with the torque management in the 10 speed), pretty impressive for an alleged 150 less HP and no s/c

    Exactly my logic. As I mentioned in a very early post, the Vette team used a Porsche 911 Turbo as one of its benchmarks and we all know how well 911s scoot of the line, so those numbers look like the Vette has some instant hook up.

    I am more shocked at the gear ratios. I thought with "just" 500hp and rwd, in order to hit 60 in under 3secs maybe they could reach 60 in 1st gear.

    But it looks like it will STILL need to shift atleast once if not twice before it hits 60.

    I don't buy performance vehicles for a fkn warranty...And the engineers didn't perfect $hit... a nasty set of 76's on a C8 is at least one step closer though..Also... twins are worth 200+ extra ... not 50-100

    That's what they claimed... but we all know its just a matter of time before somebody figures it out. Its not worth it to me until somebody does because I don't leave anything stock and these days any little change made to these new cars requires a tune revision

    When the Z06 drops it should be pretty easy to get a CPO C8 when everybody trades in. I'll probably be bored of my Mustang by that time and that just might be what I'm looking for.

    They said that about the C7 ZR1. And less than a year it was cracked.

    But i find it funny how the first thing, when talking about a possible 750hp machine, is that people right away wants to "tune" it lol.

    You tune beater projects. Not brand new high performance machines. At least not yet. Unless you're a shop, and doing it for testing purposes for future customer cars, then i don't see a point.

    You're going to throw away a warranty just because you want to tune it to gain 50 extra hp lol. And throw away a warranty on a 100k car. Or 20+ grand on a crate motor. lol @ that

    There's no way they're going back to an NA for the z06. Maybe for the hybrid?? And the 850hp engine will go into the zr1? (zora?)

    So which engine will go in the C8Z?? Or a twin turbo LT5 instead of it being supercharged?

    It's called being smart. Who the hell takes a car that's almost 100k, or more, we don't know yet, then wants to tear it apart to gain 50hp? How much power you want to gain? You want to make 2000hp? Does your car have 2000hp now?

    Some people like having the luxury of having a warranty. Because dealers can deny ANY claim if they even sniff the thought of the car being modified in any way.

    a 5.5 32-valve DOHC flat-plane-crank from GM with a TT setup seems utterly insane since they have zero experience with putting all that into one package, and imo the 5.2 voodoo wasn't exactly worth the engineering feat that went into it

    I don't really understand all this 'new' tbh, that's a ton of stuff GM isn't exactly re-known for doing well crammed into one new engine

    i do have to give props to the guys that determine the limits of a power-train, without them no one would know the weak points and what to avoid doing if your want your car to not grenade itself.

    that being said doing it on a brand new design is pretty fool-hardy, given that there will likely be more than a few hiccups. You wont really know if you're testing the limits, as a failure might occur from a simple manufacturing defect or design flaw that would endanger any factory car, and fixed under warranty.

    It's under warranty. Drive it like you stole it and if it blows up you get a new motor.


    I'm not saying do this but even if you mod the car they can only deny your warranty if they know you modded the car. Generally they go by the computer, if your motor blows up they'll go through it line by line looking for modifications.


    However, if you car had an electrical short that fried the computer they couldn't do that

    drove a GT3 at Porsche's test track a few months ago. that rear engine RWD is a whole different world to any other car I've driven.
