    Highly allergic!! Need protein alternatives?

What are some good proteins that don't require refrigeration as I'd like to be able to work out then eat a snack on my drive home to not waste results. Because I won't be eating for at least an hour having to drive then cook and eat. I'm allergic to nuts, soy, gluten, eggs, dairy. Any suggestions?

Also I'm 23 not 49 but it won't let me change my age if I don't pay and I'm not paying to do that 😂🤙

How did you determine this? Who took the test?

Lol. You can eat 6 hours later and it will barely make a difference.

Try jerky or some plant-based protein products, like bars or ready-to-drink shakes. You can drink the shakes unrefrigerated or just partially/fully freeze them so they thaw while you work out. You can also just keep a cooler in your car and put whatever you want in it to eat on your drive home.

The anabolic window isn’t a few minutes long. You have hours available where MPS signaling is elevated. You don’t need to smash protein right after a workout or you’ve wasted your gym session. That’s complete nonsense.

Maybe best to tell us what you're NOT allergic to... seems like a shorter list.

    Nothing happens in an hour.
BTW I bring a box with rice and chicken at work; I take it from the fridge at 8,30 and when I eat at 12,30 it's still cold. I don't even use a thermal bag. Just don't let the food in your car under the sun
Also whey isolates, 2 x 30 g of powder to be prepared on the spot. No lactose, no problems.
Anyway again, nothing happens to your body if you eat one hour after the workout.

    That's a good question!

    GJack,
Look on your test results sheet and tell us what type of test was run. Does the top of the sheet say IgG ELISA, or IgG something.
Also, were you getting hives or wheezing, and what type of health care provider actually ordered the test?

It is not wise to ask for advise on such a sensitive matter. Allergies can be fatal if a shock response is elicited . You'd be better off to consult a physician

Yeesh. You have them worse then I do. I only have to avoid nuts, most seeds, and eggs (along with a long list of non-proteins, environmental stuff, etc.)

When faced with this type of situation my go-to is home-made protein bars. Protein powder (whatever source you can tolerate), sunflower butter, oats, raisins.

Get over it and eat what you have to in order to grow. You're not allergic, you're just not prepared to do what it takes to reach your goals. You look at the average person in here, they look incredible, and why is that? Because they were willing to do what the next guy wouldn't. Put that same willingness in, and you will eventually go to the same heights. I hear stuff like this all the time, blaming results on genetics and "happy at any weight." I don't buy it, those people look like that cause they don't put the work in - if you want to look a certain way in life make the same sacrifices others before you have. Stop making excuses, suck it up and do it. Man up.

    Good lord, that escalated quickly.

Dude is probably in a ditch somewhere dead from a sidewalk allergic reaction after reading that and deciding to fight his bodily reactions in the name fitness.

I don't even think OP is actually allergic to anything. He probably went to an alternative health practitioner that performed some kind of wonky allergy test on him. Probably IgG. IgG food intolerance tests continue to mislead consumers into unnecessary dietary restrictions.
