Hey guys, Im 16 years old ( turning 17 in April ) and I was just wondering what db's you guys use for bench press. I use 22,5 Kilos ( 49,5 lbs).
Is that good or bad?

Oh of course, my bad. I think that 22.5 kilograms is acceptable if you're a novice (like me ). You will obviously improve on this as time moves on...
Ok so you can do 10-12 reps, I think you can increase the weight by a bit. 6-8 Reps seems to be the going rate for gainers, so yeah try and go heavier dude.

It's going to be relative for everyone. You have to base it on how much the person weighs, how long they have been training, etc... So if I can rep 120# db's for 10 that doesn't mean much. What if other guys my size are doing 130#? See what I mean. So don't base too much off of what other people are saying about the weight you move.
So really we are comparing apples to oranges here. Just don't get discouraged by others if you can't do as much weight. Just keep going hard and you will be move up in dumbell size."You gotta train like you've got a gun to your head."

Just make sure you don't lose your form. That is the most important part. Get the full range of motion no matter what weight you use.

and for the reality side of things, i seldom see anyone in my gym that's under say 170 using more than 22's. They really don't push themselves. I don't know what you weigh but that's just fine for 17 really.
ps. i think the strength chart for db press is a bit kind, i can lift what's excellent in the weight class above me on the chart for db press but nowhere near as good on the others exercises charts.
