    When to cheat on protein?

So I'm trying to get my requisite 0.7-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight every day (I'm 5'7", 150lbs). Thing is, it's pretty tiresome for me making sure I eat protein-rich meals. I don't actually like drinking protein shakes every day, and there's that (possibly true, possibly not) thing about how you can only absorb a certain amount of protein per meal, which means I have to eat like 5-6 times a day instead of 2 or 3 meals a day with 50g of protein each. I don't like having to eat so often.

So my question is, if I'm going to occasionally cheat on my protein intake, is it better to do it on the day of a workout, or the day after (i.e. a rest day)?

    If you don't like eating 5-6x a day, don't.

    Eat 2-3 then.

Maximizing MPS is better when spread out thru the day but it's the total protein of the day that matters.

Btw...1st time I ever saw anyone on here use the "cheat" word in reference to protein

Are you counting protein sources from all foods, not just the obvious ones? The reason I ask is because I'm way above 0.7 grams per day because there are a lot of foods I like which contain protein.

Even things like bread and oats contain some protein.

If a 100g chicken breast contains only 30g of protein, I'm reasonably sure I have to work hard to get enough protein a day. E.g. one meal I like is this chicken noodle soup near my place, that has like a handful of chicken slices. Three of those a day won't even come to 90g of protein.

Don't stress about protein; it's a non issue for the average joe.

100 g of protein should be more than enough for you.

So many other sources of protein besides chicken breasts. Eat some eggs, lentils, quinoa, Greek yogurt etc

What whole chicken breast is actually 100g its more like 150-200g so more like 45-60g protein each have two you are nearly done when you add the extra protein from other sources.

There is loads of protein sources it is quite easy.

I advised you cooked your own food to get your protein in, its a lot easier.

I can definitely say getting protein in isn't difficult. Eat some steak, chicken, or fish. Chicken tenders... like a 16oz portion is about 92g of protein. Basically works out to 5-6 tenders baked (not breaded or deep fried).

105 - 150 grams of protein is nothing and you should be able to get that easily by just eating some reasonably high protein foods. I'm sure your version of the internet came with google, just search for high protein foods and have at it. Also, there is nothing wrong with a protein shake, you can knock out 50 grams of protein in no time with one but if you don't want to drink them that's your call. You still need to get enough protein though and sometimes that requires altering your routine or doing things you don't necessarily want to do. Results take effort.

I've got a thing for protein yogurts at the minute. 22g right there and really tasty too.
I have a good joke about water retention. But I'm going to hold onto it for now.

I'm not an elevator, but I certainly do lift.

Going to the gym? Ha, it's just a weights of time.

Steroids and ass. They certainly go well together.

I'm the BB king..of puns. I train my back using only fish. I love my macker-rows.

All I hear is excuses I used to trick myself into believing.

Ask yourself: do I really want this? If yes, you make things work. Good things in life don’t come for free nor without putting in the work.

Drink your damn protein shake. Find one you can tolerate. Eat your meals and put in the necessary work if you want to achieve something.
