    Any food suggestions for the busy EMT/EMS life ?

    Trying to keep a relatively decent figure so no fast food or junk food. I dont have access to a microwave some days because im so busy but does anybody have any quick cold lunch and snack suggestions for EMTs ? I’ve tried deli sandwiches but would rather stay away from that processed stuff. Any EMTs/EMS workers what do you guys bring with you ? I work 12 hour shifts so I try to bring a decent amount of food with me but simple sandwiches dont usually cut it for me.

    Nuts & dried fruit are both easy to carry around and snack on, while being nutricious and caloric dense.

    Something with more protein like beef jerky or simply whey (processed though), as I assume you have access to water.

    For actual "foods", mixed salads containing stuff you like... prepare at home and bring to work.

    Pre-make whey-protein oats in the morning and keep in a sealed lunchbox, they're still quite nice cold and have great nutritional value. I eat the daily at work, you'll get used to people asking you what the hell are you eating.

    Yeah, I suppose it's kind-of weird but you get a taste for it. A lot more protein than a sandwich or something.
