Oats vs quinoa for mass gainer?

Which one is better for mass gainer carbs? Their nutritional profiles are very similar.

Quinoa might or might not be better than oats, but for 100% sure, your wallet gets smaller concurrently.

Quinoa is a better mass gainer. It does contain lots of carbs, but it is also one of the few plants with complete protein. It doesn't contain a lot of protein, (8.9g/cup cooked according to calorieking.com), but the protein that is there is of more value.

Never tried this. How's the taste compared to oats? How is it cooked? Can you make protein+quinoa...protoa? Does it work being blended raw into shakes?

I love quinoa but like others said, the price is a little heavy compared to pasta/oats/rice.

I'd compare the taste more to pasta than anything else, it takes to a lot of flavors really well. Can't see it mixing with protein too well.

I've only had it a few times. It has a texture more like rice than oats, and is usually cooked in water. I used chicken stock and onions with garlic and pepper. It was a little bland, but not bad. I suppose you could blend it into a shake, but I don't think it would turn out very well.

I prefer amaranth over quinoa.. and I wouldn't quit the oats during the day.

Amaranth's protein is very very high quality and absorbable, and the grain itself isn't much expensive comparing to the quinoa's price, atleast in my country.

I use to add 2 full tbs to my oatmeal every morning, makes the taste richer and my body healthier.
All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.

Oats are yummier and also faster to prepare, so I say oats are better.

it has a cous-cous-ish consistency. more of a die dish for a lean meat type deal. not as versatile as oats imo. i wouldn't have ever have thought to mix protein powder with it. definitely a food best enjoyed savory.

Decided to pick up some carbs today at Fairway Market and grabbed a box of Quinoa, will give it a try. Also found some Food for Life pasta, didn't even know they made it.

One thing I like about quinoa is that it keeps well in the fridge for a couple of days..
Usually what I do is make a 3 or 4 cups of it at a time.. I throw a bunch of cinnamon in with it while its boiling for extra flavor... Then when I need it I grab some.. Throw a scoop of vanilla protein in with some frozen blueberries.. So good..
Sure the day that I actually make it I need some time (about 20 minutes or so) but after that it takes under 30 seconds for a meal.

    I like oats because they're cheap..but don't qu-oat me on that.

I have a good joke about water retention. But I'm going to hold onto it for now.

Have you ever tried mixing protein powder with it? You may surprised. I add a lot of water to mine after it's finished cooking then mix in ON Vanilla Ice Cream iso with it and it tastes great. I've been told I have weird tastes though.
