Well, with the NFL becoming more and more pussified rules wise, and with all the politics involved, it's not hard to see why its becoming less popular. I feel like the NFL has been past its golden years for a while though.
NBA isn't even worth watching until the second round of the playoffs.

People in the US have been saying this for decades, since soccer was introduced into schools in the 1960/70s. Might be true in terms of TV ratings. I can't see how anyone could watch MLS though, its a second-tier league for Euroleague has-beens and never-will-be players.
As far as the USA becoming a soccer power in terms of international play, the women's team is it for the immediate future. If enough of the top tier athletes who would normally try to go into the NFL would go for soccer then I could see the USA becoming a legit force.

I hate soccer and all the ****gy diving that goes on in the sport
but it would be more enjoyable to watch if they actually had better camera angles, and cameras closer to the action. As of now the camera for 99% of the game is out so far you can see half the field. If the camera was closer to the action you would actually be able to see the intricate skill that is involved at top level soccer.
they show closeups and different angles during replays, but its usually in slow-mo etc. they need those closer cameras and angles on them during live playYellow Fever Crew

We'll have the sport dominated once kids are no longer pressured into football/baseball from a young age from culture pressure. 300 million people and the only thing anyone gives a chit about here is the NFL.
I welcome the change, someone who may be a world class soccer player ends up stuck playing football. It's like a skill vacuum.

I don't mind soccer, but it's not really worth watching American soccer when like mentioned before, the other sports suck up all the skilled athletes and so our soccer players are second rate. Though flopping isn't just a problem in soccer, it's getting bad in NBA, and even quarterbacks in the NFL are starting to do it.
These players and their associations might want to make the rules safer for them, but lets be real....we like watching hard physical play. If athletes keep flopping, they better be prepared to watch their paychecks decrease as ratings go down.
Unless I'm the minority that has started watching less sports since rules have allowed for less and less contact across sports.

Could you imagine manmores from the US with elite speed and footwork going against Euro and South American manlets in soccer if said manmores gave two chits about soccer? If soccer was the #1 sport in the States the US would absolutely dominate.

To even have a chance of being #1 we'd need it to be the most popular sport + have the youth infrastructure Europe has + many years of development.
Young European soccer players wipe the floor with ours, with the exception of a few U20 World Cup results. Some of their soccer academies look like top tier US colleges.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω
