I started lifting in april. I went from bench pressing 50 to 230 lbs. Is that normal?

In april I bought a Gym, well like 4 machines and a bench press and some dumbells. I just graduated College so I had nothing to do this summer and I just dedicated everyday to lifting. I lift 8 to 10 hours a day. My friends think i am doping because I have grown a lot to fast and they think i should work out less, but I am obssed with being the strongest ever

That would be pretty impressive but I'm personally a little sceptical. Got a video of this 230 bench?

It would be reasonable if you're naturally a pretty hooge dude or if you had previous training experience

Post a video here of the bench or you're frauding. And lifting 8-10 hours a day is very detrimental to your health especially when it comes to the strenuous activity of overtraining.

If you just graduated shouldn't your priority be something crazy like finding a job. 8-10hrs a day in the gym is just a complete waste of time. I don't think the employees are even there that long.

Take away stabilizing and you were probably able to lift more than 50lbs from the start. I do dips a lot. Stupid heavy weighted for reps.

I tried doing dips on rings. It was a challenge just to hold myself in the up position, never mind actually doing a dip. Within a couple weeks, I was doing ring dips.

If only OP had picked-up the 25 pound BB, his story would be more incredible. Not to mention, he never stated what year "April" was in.

Some people are naturally strong, so I'm not doubting that OP can bench 230. Ive seen skinny kids with natural strength bench more than that after a few months of strength training, some people have good athletic genese.

Its the working out 10 hours a day that I dont believe.

You graduated college, bought four machines, dumbbells, and a bench press, and you spend 8-10 hours a day using them? Assuming this is true, why?! Spend an hour or two a day lifting and get a life. You'll still get strong, less likely to be injured, and won't be posting on misc in a few months that no girl will talk to you and you don't know why.

Totally agree! OP obviously could have benched more than 50 pounds initially, that was what I was getting at.
