Some project manager I know had a Ford Platinum Edition F250 or something like that. He said it cost him $80,000

not reading the thread, but the 2020 GMC Canyone starts at $22,000
And lol at you thinking tacomas are old and busted. The tacoma is the best light duty pickup on the market, and you can get a sick one for <35K.
either a. you've got literally no idea what you're talking about or b. someone tried to get you to pay like double the MSRP on a truck.**Georgia Crew**

Fkn LOL @ a COlorado. I remember window sticker shopping a few years back when the Colorado just came out. Fkn amazed me that the sticker was actually more than a Full sized F150 and the gas mileage was about 1-2 mph different. I was like ayyyyyyy lmao...who TF would ever buy that? Lo and behold years later and I do see a few out there with complete idiots driving them.

quick google search, aka you'd be mentally unstable to actually pay this price.
2020 GMC Canyon
3.6L V6
4WD
Extended Cab
MRSP: $31,100
2019 GMC Canyon, new
3.6L V6
Crew Cab
4WD
SLT package - aka fully loaded
price: $35,321
So you can get a brand new 2020, 4-door, 4WD Canyon with the larger engine for probably <30K. Or the badass version with a longer bed and fully loaded interior for probably <33K.
How is that overpriced?**Georgia Crew**

If you have a normal size driveway or street parking, I don't know why anyone would prefer a Colorado/midsize truck over a full size.
BRB Little engines work so fkin hard to push the weight of a truck they get damn near the same mileage
BRB knees in my armpits
BRB Short wheelbase bumpy bump
BRB 4' truck bed LOL but I got this tinfoil extender
BRB payload capacity to haul three bags of sand

DO NOT get a small pickup. Might as well just get a car with a big trunk and back seats that fold down.
Friend of mine bought the Nissan Frontier a few years back. Then he bought a boat a year or so later. He can't pull the boat out of the water when the boat is full with gas. He had to call a tow truck one time to help him. He said it was quite embarrassing.
I bought a RAM in 2014. Paid $34k out the door. Only thing I would do different is get a 4x4. If you buy a truck get a real truck. Tacoma would be the lightest I would go.LOL @ people who follow politics

Trucks in general have gotten insane. Used 4wd trucks are where its at. They hold their value forever and all of the fullsize ones are very reliable even high mileage. Tacos are awesome but people act like they're made of gold

Its not really that crazy. Most new cars start around 20... Fully loaded cars end up near 30, why wouldn't a body on frame truck fully loaded with a luxury interior and the capability to tow and use 4x4 be near 35k? Not even mentioning some of these trucks come with locking differentials, air ride, hill descent, etc. Most new trucks get pretty damn good gas milage also.

See these types of trucks everywhere i look in Texas. Considering the average household income is like 50K/year ... that's a lot of broke motha-fuk'as. Nothing like wasting a whole year and a half (after tax) of paychecks on a depreciating asset. Good lord.
Just thinking about how nutty that is ... is beyond amazing. Millions of Americans have been brainwashed into putting in 8-12 hours of work every day for 1.5-2 years straight ... and all that labor/time is essentially going to pay off just one depreciating asset. Most people don't own their cars... their cars own them. What a life suck."There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle." -Gym Jones

I think those big shiny trucks are cool and all, but you would really have to be some kind of a tradie to think they are worth 85k. At that point you may as well buy a corvette, at least that will stand out. I see plenty of pickups on the road and the expensive ones are nice yeah but you can get a used $10k truck that looks almost the same lol. Blows my mind the way people blow money

those mid size trucks are waste of money imo, sure they are easier to drive, maybe a little bitter on mpg and hold resale value a bit better
but compared to buying a half ton during truck month its a rip off. You can get some crazy deals during truck months
The margin on luxury pickups is crazy,
example is Ford they double the price of the F150 from XLT to Limited with the exact same options (same quality of buttons and everything) you can get in the ford focus for a few thousand more
