Well, phukk!!! I've been procrastinating on turning on the sprinkler system because it's been cooler and rainer than normal. Decided today was the day, so I did some setup & fixes outside and went down to the utility room to turn the water on for the outside supply . . . and I see that the water heater drain pan is filling up with water--and it's warm water. Got the shp vac out and removed the water and the pan filled right back up pretty steadily and not through the pressure relief valve. Fortunately it was all going down the overflow drain and not over the top of the pan. So my 4 year old AO Smith water heater just took a dump. Luckily I caught it and got it all disconnected and drained.
And oh, the ironing . . . I had this one installed because the old one we got when we bought the house was about 13 years old and I was worried we were on borroed time so we replaced it proactively. It's under warranty, so should be covered there, but what a pain in the azz to deal with. Got the cold water turned back on, but going to be showering at mom's or the gym for a few days.
Check your water heaters regularly, boyos. I usually do pretty often so this probably wasn't leaking for very long but it could have been a disaster.

Hnggg I really want one. If I had your discount it’d be a lot easier.
Just got dont shooting in my backyard. Set up a couple USPSA targets and was working transitions and whatnot. So much fun not having to follow range rules and being able to do whatever. Finding the brass is a pain though.
Heading to Lowe’s now. Cleaned up the garage more today and need to get slatwall/metal racks/work bench etc to get the place organized.

I caught mine just as it started to fail a little over a year ago. Only reason I saw it was because of basement gym. It was about 20 years old, home warranty still covered just under half of the replacenent. Glad I caught it when I did because the next day I was heading out of town for a month for work.

The red dot 365 is fun. I'm a big optics guy. I don't like that the shield is auto-adjusting but it has been reliable so far. On the 320 it's just the angle. That's an X5 with one of the new tungsten grip modules. I have had to keep my mouth shut obviously but I have been running it that way since December.

Change the anode rods once or twice and you can double the life of your hot water heaters.

4 years (a few months shy of that) seems on the pretty darn short side of life expectancy for an anode rod, if that's the issue. But I'll find out when they come replace the heater. We had never replaced the rods in the old one and that one never actually failed. I installed a water softener right around the same time as the new water heater . . . thought those were supposed to extend the life of the water heaters due to less sediment in the tanks, but something went wrong somewhere.
If the water softener is eating anode rods faster, then I guess I'll need to add that to the list of things to do more often.Last edited by taf1968; 06-02-2019 at 03:13 PM.

So.. house and senate pass bill for recreational marijuana... goes to governor now
Governor JB says it’s about time recreational marijuana is legalized in this state..
I don’t even know what to expect besides more potheads that leech off the system. Maybe more money for schooling and fix up the fuked up streets. Potholes are so fuked up here in Chicago it’s sad.

I bought a VP9 as my first pistol and while it's definitely not the worst pistol out there, there are better options depending on what is important to you. I still can't get over the mag release, I don't mind having it my safe, but I probably would buy something else if I could go back, I typically suggest a Glock (despite my own personal dislike of them, enough people like them, dependable, cheap, etc) and now a CZ P10 variant of some kind.

So, I need to work on my shotgun reloads and follow up shots. Also, this was my 3rd stage, and I somehow forgot that my gun has a safety...

The mag release is superior to a button, that's inarguable. Paddle mag releases are the best. How are you activating it?
Amazing how often that happens to people with any amount of pressure at all...yet you get the crowd who guarantees it will never be forgotten in a life or death situation (dis or re engaging)

Yeah. Paddle release is so superior that HK does something they never do - listen to what people wanted and made a VP9 with a button release.

I literally traded in my VP9 for a P10c. I liked the VP9 trigger but couldn't get over the mag release, and the bore axis was not as low as people say. Also paying 60 bucks for a handgun mag is absolutely harambe
Look at MAC 's torture tests and see where polymer guns stack up. P10C ran the gauntlet the best for a striker fired gun, the VP9 was one of the worst performing
Ikey is a huge VP9 head and its crazy seeing him recommend a P10c. Used to be so many haters on the P10c ITT becaue it was the new kid on the block6 scoops of xf up2.0 a day
