    Skinny fat: Cut or maintenance

Hey guys, basically I’m skinny fat where my belly is on the chubbier side, arms are skinny, butt is a tad big too (not too big). I have love handles which are kind of (little) noticeable. Belly is slightly noticeable in clothing

Now, in around 3 months I will be going somewhere where first impressions matter significantly, thus I would prefer to gain a bit of muscle but definitely lose some of the belly fat such that it isn’t noticeable while i’m in clothing. I don’t mind too much about the looks when shirtless but care more about when the shirt is on.

    Should i cut or maintain?

Hate looking chubby. (Shirt on) Don’t mind looking skinny (with shirt on)

Info: New to gym (2 years ago went on off every 2 weeks, 3 times a week, for 6 months)

    Thanks for helping

    172cm, 61kg

We see many many cases of skinny fat and they all want to cut and they all struggle to achieve any kind of muscle growth. You are 60kg, do yourself a favour and eat to gain muscle first and foremost.

    Start eating right!
Then you should start to train.Run in the morning.
In the beginning it will be enough.

post a pic with both shirt on and off

you can do a lot with just adding simple exercises (like walking 1-2 hrs a day) or increasing your NEAT everyday while not changing your diet.

if I were you though, I would get on a full body workout program, count calories, and weigh myself everyday to have control over and really monitor your progress.
