    Rack Mounted Hip Thruster

Hadn't seen one of these before. Cool idea. My wife wants one.

They said they are coming out with a new, improved version soon along with pricing.

Seems like an easy add-on for existing jammer arms.

Interesting. Wonder if your belt squat can be used in this way Mech (possibly with an addition).

Agreed, now we just need to find a fabricator.

The rack mounted hip thruster I'm envisioning would definitely spice up my workouts. Would need to be functional for men, women, and couples - in a variety of positions. I'm definitely going to start searching for a fabricator and apply for a patent on this thing.

Belt squat, no. Lever arm, yes, probably. Height of pivot would be main thing to consider.

How is that any better, easier, or safer than a barbell and a bench?

More stable on the ground and Im guessing since you dont need to balance it, you could theoretically use more weight

I'm not overly impressed with the above design, but I can tell you that setting up the barbell for hip thrusts in a confined space is very frustrating.
I don't do them for that reason, and I benefit more from that movement than other glute variations.

I remember reading that hip thrusts are more effective when done with shoulders on the bench instead of laying on the floor. You can probably use a bench with this one, but again you approach the setup difficulties like with the barbell.

Hip Thrust machines seem to be in vogue lately. I've seen some nice designs, although not a compact one.
It's like it was with the GHD, you'll free up space in your home gym only if you really, really want one and use it often.

    Makes sense.
We just pull the flat bench over to where the bar for deadlifts is and put a thick pad on the bar. Since there's only 1 or 2 people in our little gym at any time, it works ok. I think a tiny smith machine would be nicer, or a modified leg extension machine.

Wouldn't this design work better if the pivot point was at the head instead of the feet?

I think so, but it is really her that is making that orientation. They should have some kind of limiter on it as well so that people can get set up with a bench.
