I read an article that cited a study which showed increase human growth hormone production around 2 hours after ingesting creatine. So I was thinking, since humans grow most at night, I'll start taking creatine before bed, and maybe I'll grow more? Muscle and height?
Is this a good idea?

Can't see full text unfortunately. The sceptic in me says that this could be similar to the acute hormonal response caused by fasting or by doing squats - i.e. is too short lived to have any impact on hypertrophy. The authors speculate that it could have an indirect anabolic effect but as far as I can tell don't measure / demonstrate attribution to that.

What effects do you expect from HGH?
This is the biggest area of confusion I find. People assume it is a significant skeletal muscle mass builder. Those are not its primary effects.Controlled Labs Warder

So far been taking a generous 5g dose of creatine every night and I feel like I sleep a lot longer, no joke. The days I don't set an alarm I sleep up-to 10 hours easily, used to be 8-9. Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing though.
What are it's primary effects? I'm 18 so I'm trying to grow taller and more muscle.

I'm not. Any GH increase within the normal range won't do anything for either of those. You also very likely have fused growth plates at your age, there is no chance you are going to grow significantly in height.
GH within the normal range will not alter muscle levels. It's main action isn't on skeletal muscle anyway.Controlled Labs Warder
