Smile 1 Coke Zero a Day, how bad?

    Hello,

I’m new to the forum . I recently began my weight loss journey of ~100lbs. So far month one closed with 7 lbs down, 2% decrease of body fat and 1% increase in muscle mass.

Having being in shape in the past. I understood what’s I had to do in order to achieve my goal, I’ve made a clean nutrition, weight lifting and HIIT cardio plan. However, I have a guilty pleasure which is Coke Zero or Diet Snapple. I’ve reduced my intake significantly but now I’ve found myself taking one per day at lunch, it really helps me to stay focus on the rest. Other than that I have a cup of coffee with almond milk with breakfast and water thru the day.

Would like to know if someone with similar goals had kept a decent amount of diet soda as part of their diet and still met their goals. A simple google search left me with plenty of arguments that artificial sweeteners may block weight loss but no evidence of how much, not sure how much a can or 0.75L bottle of Coke Zero May have.

I am pleased with my results but don’t want this to slow me down.

    Thanks.
    Luis

Its zero calorie, and artificial sweeteners do not inhibit weight loss. I drink like 3-4 a day.
All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.

I actually like Coke Zero's, drink them all the time on my diet, maybe 5 a week.

AFAIK it doesn't inhibit weight loss.

I lost 30 lbs in 4 months I think, don't think there it inhibited anything.

Not bad at all, zero calories and yummy, plus caffeine. The only way it could be better is if it was Diet Coke or Vanilla Coke Zero, the are my saving grace on keto.

Man, this is my thread. I'm a major Coke Zero junkie. I try to limit them, though, because I was drinking too many each week. I know they are zero calorie, but I have also read that the artificial sweeteners can still jack up your insulin levels. I'm not at all sure if this is true or if it's even supported by studies, though. Someone else may have more information on this. I've just personally chosen to cut back on my consumption of Coke Zero and try to replace it with more water.

Anything you eat “jacks up your insulin levels”

That’s what insulin is for. Insulin, ghrelin and leptin interplay and control hunger levels, energy etc

Have you been diagnosed with diabetes or any form of insulin resistance, do you suffer for hyper/hypoglycaemia? If no, then don’t bother with the small stuff
