You know I wouldn't be surprised if they make a movie about this guy. If you watch the interview I posted, he talks about how baseball started releasing a bunch of nerdy little stats that the sports bookies didn't care about, but he used them for years to clean up and provide his initial betting bankroll before the bookies caught on.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

My favorite part has become watching the faces of the other contestants when he gets a daily double, ha ha...the look when they know it’s over is priceless. You could tell both contestants were pissed off yesterday. Did you see the woman “throw down” her buzzer in frustration at the end. Sore losers.

Oh, I totally understand. The guy yesterday would have totally won on a “regular” episode, and he would have wiped the floors with those teachers last week.
But hey, it’s like a bodybuilding contest...you could train for years, be the best you’ll ever be, and show up and get annihilated by mister genetics.
I’m convinced James is both a speed reader and has an eidetic memory...which might be “cheating” in a way...but that’s another “moral question” altogether. Honestly, I’m surprised we haven’t had someone like this before, and I’m curious if he purposely “tricked” his way through some screening process to get on the show...like Vegas looking for card counters (which they consider “cheating” but I feel it’s just smart people taking advantage of their gift).

My friend's friend was a bookie in this country town where we'd quail hunt. We'd stop there for lunch and at the end of the day for coffee or sometimes his wife (a true COUNTRY cook!!!) would fry us up something for dinner and always in lard But I digress. He had a couple of sharp "customers" too, and his plan was basically laying off their bets AND MORE with other bookies. If you can't beat 'em, JOIN 'EM!

A nail biter! James was in 2nd place after the first half. He didn’t get the DD, and only got one in double. I don’t remember the exact scores, but I think he was only ahead by $4000 at the end and could have actually lost if he got final Jeopardy wrong...but he didn’t. Didn’t break 2 million, like was expected, but lives to fight another day.

Has he ever said why, on daily double's, he bids weird amounts of money...not just straight amounts?

I haven't been following it regularly, but watched it last night and it just seems odd that there is such a wide disparity between James and the other contestants. For example, if you watch the Olympics, everyone who enters is high talent, albeit some are better than others. Same if you watch pro-football or something, where everyone's talent is evenly matched. There are more talented players than others sure, but watching these shows with James, it's like he is worlds away from the others. It's gonna get boring if they don't start finding more challenging contenders.

I think he lives a pretty clean life, the survival margin is pretty small but I'm betting the odds favor the wealthy with a clean lifestyle.
The investment banker from NYC had me a little nervous tonight but James just seems to get up to speed for double Jeopardy.
Didn't ring in on another easy baseball questionDon't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
