I'd rather have Freeman than Cook
Not drafting Cook ever, along with Fournette
Conner couldn't hold up to a full year of being the bellcow last year + expecting Pitt to take a step back offensively this year + Samuels was the new coach's RB in college
I'm okay drafting him, but not in the first

I think the opposite. Less bench spots make you research more. It make that bench spot more valuable - As well as charging for transactions. At least, it makes you take it serious more. The more bench spots you have, it is easier to do less research, take a chance and just throw a guy on your bench and hold him until you get a better picture.

I like 6 bench spots and an IR.
imo 6 bench spots gives room for a couple of back up players, and a couple of flyers. 4 bench spots is pretty slim IMO, it really only allows for a couple of back ups to your rb/wr positions, anything else you will have to get from waivers. I have only played with a short bench once and I didnt mind it. waivers were always ripe for the pickin with players, but it kind of lowered the amount of trades, because there was less need to bargain with someone when you could hit the waivers and find a serviceable replacement.

I also like 6 bench spots and an IR. Gives you space to stash an extra QB or TE and also handcuffs/guys with potential
playing with 4 or 5 bench spots would probably mean you don't roster 2 QBs or TEs so you can have bye week fillers and guys with potential
short bench would make waiver position more valuable for sure

It's a different kind of research. when you have a deep bench, you need to research deep sleepers and potential breakout candidates weeks before they break out and hold guys who may never have a breakout week. With a shorter bench, you have to research which players will produce best right now and which breakout weeks are an emerging player and which are just flukes.

The only thing I pay attention to during training camp is when the team is saying the opposite of what is in their interests, which is usually negative things. For example, teams always want to hype up their rookies (especially early picks) so if they are saying that the rookie sucks it's something to pay attention to because every incentive is for them to give glowing reports and say positive things. Alternatively, where a team might be thinking about moving on from a player and preparing their fanbase for that (i.e. Titans with Mariota) then the incentive is for them to say negative things about him, in which case if there were positive things I would pay more attention to it.
