Seems to me the logical conclusion is that you felt depleted in the gym and were not recovering great because you were running a calorie deficit and losing bodyweight.

It's pretty common for people to cut and not look as muscular as they had hoped...most of us have a lot more bodyfat and less skeletal muscle mass than we think

Look man, Ill say it since no one else is. The best protein in powder form is whey, if you can't do that, then eat protein through foods, you should be doing that anyways. If you can't afford it than you won't be seeing progress, its that simple. Find a way to get your protein and caloric needs, however it may be. A bag of frozen fish, and a bag of frozen chicken will last me my entire week, for less than $25 USD. Eggs are $3 a week for me. That gets meall the protein I need in a week for less that $30. You aren't going to find that value in protein powder. Figure it out. Point, blank, period, end of discussion.

Edit: Lets just be generous and say you need 150g protein in a day, that is 1,050g of protein per week. If each serving of powder gives you an estimated 25g of protein, that is 42 scoops of protein powder, per week. A quick google search on the first egg powder that came up gave me $2.70 per serving. Thats $90 a week just on protein, not even fats and carbs. So again, we have given you options, told you what is efficient and quality, figure the rest out.

    Good answer , thanks.

It seems I can get enough 150 protein from eggs and chicken and lets say dinner,

My final question is, what is the needed amount of protein / day to build ultra mass ? I mean is it a mininum or maximum amount of protein I can take per day or the more protein say 200 - 300 g per day/ the better results ?

    thank you

I know what you're saying. I whole heartily agree with your statement "It's pretty common for people to cut and not look as muscular as they had hoped...most of us have a lot more bodyfat and less skeletal muscle mass than we think"

At 51 yrs old, natty and with a slower metabolism I have to watch the cals. My natural fat zones unfortunately are my face, chest and belly. A cut for me is 1,700-1,800 cals. At that I look great on the beach. But I crack under the stress of people asking if I'm still hitting the weights when I'm wearing a shirt.

For the past 3 months I am basically doing about the same macros calorie wise with a few minor tweaks. I have substituted three meals a week with beef and reintroduced the powdered whey. I just feel the chicken was too flat for me. It's still a necessity in the diet but I'm not going to lean on it so much as my main protein source. If I'm not happy this go around I'm gonna try carb cycling which is always a royal PITA.

I hear it many times...food is food, calories are calories, intake verse expenditure is all that matters. I agree with that if losing weight is the main goal. But my body seems to miss those micro nutrients. The types of food I eat greatly affect my look and the way I feel.

Anyway to bring this back around and make it fit in the supplement section. I personally feel whey is still a viable food source for recovery and building muscle. It's not magic. But nothing natural ever is.

As far as the OP, he will have to find his own whey. Ha!

I’m having a hard time determining whether OP is a parody poster, or just that seriously uninformed.

OP if you consume 300 grams of protein a day you will get gas that will kill every living thing within a 5 mile radius of you, including plant life.

I like impact whey protein. Tests high in independent lab testing, and very competitive pricing. Goes great with milk/oats. Sometimes, I think I'm turning into a barnyard animal with all the whey/milk/oats I eat!

I bloat from a lot of protein supplements except for Nutrabio brand stuff. I usually take there Casein but I also have had Protein Isolate and other blends.

I have not had any bloating with that brand.

Wish I could consume whey / casein protein / milk protein / soy protein / but it breaks me into cystic acne like hellzone I simply cannot consume it, no matter what brand, no mater if it has lactose or not, if it is something from dairy, it makes my body look like volcano pizza bumps all over.

If there is anyone in my situation... a good advice would help, I simply want to take another protein supplement to augument with food... yes, i cannot consume dairy / soy in any f form

The specialized non-dairy non-soy non-whey non-casein protein powder you are searching for, if it exists, will be far more expensive than a lot of the foods you are ruling out. Like seriously, this isn't that hard.

Chicken is cheap per ounce when purchased in bulk. Eggs are cheap. Tuna is cheap. A bag of frozen tilapia is cheap. Ground beef is cheap, especially when you can catch it on sale and extra especially when you buy in bulk. You can walk in your grocery store and I just about assure you if you just take your time and look, they are bound to have some kind of sirloins on sale for cheap, at least all the groceries around me always do. Buy a pork roast for next to nothing and make yourself some pulled pork. There are so many options. Plus all those options have the added benefit of being actual food, which is always better than a supplement.

Protein powder is not a magic formula, it's not going to miraculously turn you into some kind of gym god. Focus on meeting caloric and macro needs and training hard on an established, proven, reliable program.

Thanks all, I have sorted out that I take from food 90% of protein daily (my kg is 75 so I ll need around 140 g protein)

I need 10% more from a supplement so I ll have to chose between beef / pea / rice protein

What would you pick ? tx

Get the extra 14g of protein a day by tweaking your diet.

For me, granted this is in the best country in the world, that would be an extra 8 ounces of fairlife chocolate milk, readily available at any local grocery store...and is lactose free. The cost would be around $0.50 per day or $15/month

I think he said you’re wrong because there are about 10 trillion protein powders on the market, and you boldly claimed this paticular one is “best for the body”, and to top it off I don’t think anyone has ever heard of it.

If you’re absolutely dead set on it, just look for a vegan gainer.

Loaded with shyte quality protein and and shyte quality carb sources.

Alternatively, buy vegan protein, buy a carb source and make your own.

    Alternatively, eat more food.
