Just wanted to know if it actually matters if i get my morning calories in before my workout (an hour before) or if i should save them for after. I know theres the whole muscle protein synthesis time window but does that really mater.
I'd rather just eat and get it out of the way since im going to be thinking about food during my workout.

Eat before or after lifting? Does it make a difference?

I'm sure it makes some minor difference, but the real thing is to simply be consistent with your training and diet in general and not obsessing over the many debatable minutia of details that may or may not matter.
Meaning, if you can't train consistently, eat a clean diet consistently or get a good night's rest every night -- then it doesn't matter if you chug that protein shake exactly 10 minutes after working out or not.
Worry about being consistent. Not about minor details. Eat if you're hungry. Don't freak out if you have to wait a few hours and "miss your anabolic window" or other bullchit.
edit: fuk, thought this was regular misc. I'm out.All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
